Sens vs Habs

Ugly hit on Lars Eller by Gryba, a lot of blood.
Is it just me or did it look like the body was principle point of contact? Whoever that D was that made that pass should be hung. Ugly suicide pass

On second look, the head doesn't look like it was the principle point of contact.  Looks okay to me actually - just the result was bad.

Was scary for a bit when they showed that huge puddle of blood.

I'm not sure the head was the principle point of contact, either. He definitely connected with Eller's head. Definitely did not look like he meant to connect with the head, though. I think the call here was influenced by the big puddle of blood. Not sure that really warranted 5 and a game.

That being said, if the same thing happened to a Leaf, I'd be calling for blood, so . . .

It's so unlike Montreal to get undeserved 5:00 powerplays.

Yeah. That pic definitely makes it seem like he got shoulder first. May not have even deserved a penalty at all, as Eller had the puck before the hit was delivered and Gryba didn't charge or leave his feet. THe refs are only human, and the big pool of blood does make it hard for them not to make a call. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt there, but, they still made the wrong call.

Yeah I agree.  It takes slow-mo/frame-by-frame to really tell, and even then you can't really say for sure.  I don't blame the refs, like you say, and which Elliotte Friedman said as well.  It's just the way it goes - they miss one on Grabovski, probably invent one here, it just happens too fast sometimes.

Broken nose for Eller according to HNIC, relaying it from the Habs.  Heading to hospital.

Meh, the habs break easy. It's a playoff game ffs, get it set in the locker room, put on a cage or a visor and get back to it! Eddie Shore would have ;)
