Sens vs Habs

I assume that PP was a big reason why the sens were outshot 27-7 in that period?

Just turned the TV on and caught the 4th Ottawa goal but wouldn't surprise me. 4pp's by the looks of it including a 5 minute penalty. Hate the fans there whining and crying about every trip and hit etc. Habs get a lot of calls from the fans I think. Didn't see the 2nd period so not going to say if the calls were well deserved or not. All in all good score. Love to see the Sens win.

I'm just personally glad that the Leafs couldn't be bothered to show up in that Montreal game.  Montreal was on the PP for 10 minutes in the 2nd period and while they put up a million shots they lost 4-2

Hey, I turned the game on right around the same time! :)

From reading earlier on in the thread, it sounded like it was a bang-bang play where the head probably wasn't the main point of contact, but the result was a pool of blood, so that's why the penalty was called. Plus there was a 2-man for a minute and a half.

The Habs set an NHL record when they recorded 27 shots in the second period alone, for a total of 50 for the game.

Ottawa's Craig Anderson was superb in preserving the Sens 4-2 win.

As for that hit on Ellers by Gryba, and all that blood gushing out made for a pretty brutal scene.  Here's the video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=28B3QTEAiOc

?I stepped up to make a hit. I kept my shoulder down. He received the puck by the time I hit him. I saw the replay. My elbow was down and there was no intent to hurt him whatsoever and I hope that he?s OK,? Gryba said after the game. ?I?m not out here to hurt anybody and it?s never good to seeing anything like that.?

?I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.?

Brandon Prust: "We don't really care about what that bug eyed fat walrus has to say"-on Paul MacLean.

What did he say?

Basically had no sympathy for Eller. Said to blame the guy making the pass, and Eller for knowing if you cut through the middle like that you're gonna get hit.

Edit: McLean's comments:
Walrus said:
"I thought player 61, if I'm ... was it Eller that got hit? I'm really mad at player 61, whoever he is," MacLean said during his postgame press conference. "Because he passed me the puck in the middle of the rink when I wasn't looking, and that's always been a dangerous place. As far as I know, ever since I've been playing this game, that's a dangerous place to be. Bad things happen."

Brian Gionta and Max Pacioretty (upper body) won't play tonight. #canadiens

I'd assume that Eller is out too, that's going to make things hard on the habs tonight.

They're in huge trouble with all those guys out.

Stay classy, Prust. Stay classy.

You're just trolling DGB at this point, right?

Only caught part of the habs player quote on the FAN just now, but one of them said he hoped that Gryba isn't suspended - the implication being that he is going to be targeted.

That was Prust.  He's set himself up for a HUGE suspension if he goes after and hurts Gryba after that comment.  It's Bertuzzi like.

Haven't the Montreal police arrested him yet?

I can understand their frustration, if it were a Leafs player getting injured like that I'm sure I wouldn't be able to look at the hit so objectively.

I understand.  I guess the only thing we can do as Leaf fans is watch the drama unfold.  :P
