Sharks @ Leafs - Dec. 3rd, 7:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

This, but I do think we could still use Orr or McLaren but not both. Sometimes a face does need punchin

That's fine, but, they still need to be replaced with someone who fights and contributes in other ways. The 'useless when not fighting' types like Orr and McLaren need to be gone.

Just got here ... and we're in it?  Didn't expect that.

Somewhat miraculously. The 1st period could have been a lot worse in terms of the score and the Leafs had a good 10-12 minutes in the 2nd, and here we are.

So uneven at best, eh?  Plus I heard that SJ got 40 shots.

So that goal where the 4th line was hemmed in will be the winner.

colton orr had the puck and could have cleared but was CLEARLY tripped from behind...no call and the puck is in the net.  also, SN never showed a replay of it and never mentioned it.

Yup. Long stretches of poor play. One long stretch of good play. 41 shots against. Par for the course.

Rielly will probably get scratched for it.

Why the hell would Carlyle take our Reimer if we didn't have possession of the attacking zone??

Can't believe I got suckered into watching this game.  I said I wouldn't.

Still, so sick of the penalties and man, if that stupid 4th line game winner didn't happened and we'd probably be in OT.

Ah well.

All in all, after the first, actually probably one of our better efforts of the last few weeks. Play like we did in the 2nd/3rd and a win v Dallas and Ottawa is a possibility.

Really that bottom line is the main issue. They cost us the GWG tonight and deflated the side after a decent fight back. But the contest between the Leafs and Sharks 4th lines was night and day.

We would be surely better to waive/sit/release/whatever one or both of Orr and McLaren and bring up players who can skate and play 10 minutes instead of 4 or 5. Until that happens I don't see the Leafs improve :/

I couldn't watch the game tonight. Damien Cox tweeted that it was the result of Rielly not clearing a puck. Said it was a rookie mistake or whatever.

Reilly should be sent to the world jrs.  This team is going nowhere with or without him.

You mean it isn't good development playing with Orr, Mclaren, Smithson and Fraser?

I didn't think they looked all that good in the 3rd. I think a lot of what made them look better than usual was that the Sharks were protecting a league while trying not to expend too much energy at the beginning of a 4 game road trip.
