Don't get Robertson sitting. I haven't been overly impressed with his play buy he needs to play unless he's on his way out which I could see. Catch 22 but sitting on the bench isn't helping matters. He's one of those kids like Moore who if traded will prosper from it but we need help on D and he's a prime candidate to be shipped out.

He's made a number of boneheaded plays lately where he coughs up the puck trying to make a fancy move coming out of his own end, so I'm OK with him sitting a couple of games.

The big problem I see with that line is that Domi and Robertson are almost the same player - smallish, quick, not really all that physical (except for when Domi goes off), good playmakers but not good finishers. Robertson has a tremendous shot and, in theory, should be a good finisher, but he hasn't figured out how to use it.

I think there's a good chance he'll be traded away as part of a deal for a defender. If he winds up on a bottom feeder team, he'll probably play a lot more and higher in the lineup and put up a bunch of points. Given enough time in Toronto, he could do the same...maybe. But he's not playing over Knies or Bertuzzi, and come playoff time he won't be in the lineup. I find myself wondering if it'd be better for him to be playing close to 20 min a night with the Marlies as opposed to 8-9 with the Leafs.

Scoring points is not a big issue for Domi or Robertson

I think, like Domi, what is bothering them about Robertson is what he does with the puck in terms of taking care of it - not giving it away.

Holmberg is nearly as good a scorer but I think they like him better defensively.

Maybe he's a better winger for Domi because of that - helps the line defensively.

I would have liked us to be ahead by more than 1 at this stage.
We would all like it to be 6-0. Leafs keep plugging away. Allowed only 5 shots, tough to complain.

But I will.  This is the most formless game I've seen in a long time.

Yeah. Effort has been superb tonight. Results haven?t been there, unfortunately, but they?ve been absolutely dominant.

If Jones records a s******* I will give him an accolade.  That was big at the very end.

Here's where I'm at on Willy: as long as he drops the shoulder and takes it to the net during the playoffs I will fall meekly in line behind herman and like the re-sign.

11.5 is a LOT o'money
He's a lot of player. Personally I don't care anymore what any of them make. We are getting to witness greatness with this core so enjoy it while it lasts.
Next year might be a little tight but JT's coming off the books after next season and will take a huge discount or be gone.

When is Marner up again?

Same time JT is due.

Marner signed for 13.38% of the cap for 7 seasons. Matthews? went from 14.64% to 15.87%.

I guess they're pretty sure the cap's going up enough to pay out the dough to 88.
