Absolutely! I agree that we may not make the playoffs, if we do it will be 7th or 8th I think and just squeak in.

Our system is very strong from where I'm observing and I think over time, we may have a blue-chip guy in the bunch yet, time will tell. But there is definitely a lot to be excited about IMO.

As always, injuries, Reimer etc. but I think healthy years from Armstrong, Phaneuf and Lupul will work wonders.
 
After the last few years even i am going to err on the side of caution when it comes to the Leafs. i think they are at the point of stepping up in the NHL, but where it will be depends on how things come together with the Kessel line. if they mesh and we end up with two top lines to go with the third that will also be a threat, that combined with the defence, and what i think will be a very good combo in net, should give us a very good shot at jumping into the 6-10 pool. this all makes me ;D

Wow!! B&WB you need a big shot in the arm of blue juice. your only looking at the bad that can happen with the leafs. you have to admit this bunch is the best we have had in years, i see lots of good, so much so i cant see the bad, now that has to be a very good thing.

i would recomend you head right down to the ACC and get a shot of blue. ;D ;D ;D

nut&man, it was more of a joke. I see lots to like in the system these days. I think most of my posts have been optimistic, just maybe not as much as you. If I didn't have any blue in me, I don't think my user name would be as such.

i know i am a bit to positive when it comes to the leafs, but i need to be so i dont go down in flames like so many other leaf fans.
 
Well the leaf are starting to look like they have enough spare body's to make a big move. it will be interesting to see what Burke does going forward, i could see a three for one deal happening.

Well, Armstrong did miss almost half the season, so, if he can stay healthy this year, that could have a noticeably positive effect on the PK.

But it's not like his absence coincided with the PK driving off a cliff. He was an ok PKer but not a great difference maker.

That's probably true, though, it wouldn't surprise me if the the difference in the PK effectiveness with a healthy Armstrong vs an injured Armstrong is more significant than we think. Either way, I think the biggest aide for the PK this year will be the potentially improved goaltending. No Giguere and either an improved Gustavsson or no Gustavsson could go a long way in helping them out there.
 
From playing together regularly I could see Armstrong and Bozak developing some chemistry that could help the pk.

That's probably true in the same sense it's true for everyone that better goaltending will improve the PK efficiency and that makes way more sense than chalking up significant improvement to Armstrong-Bozak-Kadri.

With that said if the Leafs are going to take their PK to being a significant strength of the team(which they probably have to if they're not going to be winning on firepower) it'll have to involve significant improvements in the personnel on the PK.
 
Well according to the Globe and Mail and Ron Wilson Komisarek is a lock
for the D. That means Gunnar or Fransen are the odd player out - in addition the would have to move Fransen from his regular right side to an unnatural (for him) left side to accomodate Komisarek.

Komisarek...the gift that keeps on giving.  :-[
