I figure Maynard stops Edgar tonight and Aldo sends Florian looking for yet another new division to get a title shot in.

Anyone see Chael call out Silva? You lost to him like just a few months ago buddy...get over it. I actually think that was Silva's last title defence was against Sonnen...

His last defence was against Okami but yes Sonnen seems to think he's in the WWE.

Expecting Florian to announce his move to flyweight and he's excited about it.

GSP injures a knee in training and is expected to be sidelined 4 weeks minimum. He's out of UFC 137. BJ Penn and Nick Diaz is now the main event. Apparently, Josh Koscheck has offered to step in to face Carlos Condit.

Can never seem to go more than a few GSP fights without him getting injured and having to delay. Really going to wonder how much time all these injuries will take off his career.

It is the first time in more than 4 years that he has to pull from a fight - since before he lost to Serra.

Anyone going to UFC 140 in Toronto?
I wasn't that pumped for Evans vs Jones but when Lyoto got put in for Evans I went through the roof!
I've been a big Machida fan ever since I watched him destroy Bonnar in something called Jungle fights. I can safely admit that Machida doesn't deserve a shot at the belt yet but as Clint Eastwood once said "Deserve got nothing to do with it".

Ticketmaster was willing to let me have one floor seat, 6th row for a measly $796.

He isn`t injured any more than any other fighter and most of the time they are minor injuries. I am not too concerned.

According to Penn, that was probably his last fight. We've probably also seen the last of Mirko Cro Cop after he got TKO'd by Roy Nelson last night. We've heard this out of Cro Cop before, but I'm a little more inclined to believe him this time. He is no longer the dominant fighter he used to be. Penn on the other hand would probably take one more fight to go out on a winning note.

Nick Diaz is the bad boy of MMA and he showed it again last night. He called out GSP in the cage last night, saying he wasn't hurt but scared of fighting him. GSP's apparently got so fired up at that that he wants Diaz next instead of the scheduled Carlos Condit, who reportedly "agreed" to step aside. Looks like GSP-Diaz on Super Bowl weekend.

BJ is done. He got destroyed by GSP. Edgar beat him up good, and Fitch beat him also. Diaz beating Penn doesn't impress me at all. He won't be doing that to GSP. GSP is going to destroy him.

I agree.

Fans have been calling out for a fight between George St Pierre and Nick Diaz because they  believed Diaz would be a stylistic challenge for Pierre. After watching the fight last night I think a great case can be made for the opposite. I think George's strengths work directly against Diaz's weaknesses and Diaz's strengths are negligible in this fight.

If we look at Diaz's fight last night he is an excellent striker. It doesn't appear he has too much power but has precision and a speed that remains consistent for at least three rounds.  I found BJ Penn dominated him in striking in the first round and was only defeated in subsequent rounds because of inferior conditioning. This is a problem that George St Pierre won't suffer from.  George St Pierre can go at the same speed as Diaz for five rounds. Also, BJ Penn couldn't take Nick Diaz down. George is one of the best wrestlers in MMA and was able to take down superior wrestlers than Nick Diaz. With a lack of  knockout power and a high risk for take downs, I see Nick having a difficult time imposing his strength on his feet.

As for on the ground, Diaz is considered an excellent fighter from his back but someone who struggles against good wrestlers. George is a topnotch wrestler with much greater strength than Diaz. If George can take down Diaz he will dominate with wrestling and be able to manage Diaz's ground game through superior strength.

The only chance Nick Diaz has is catching George in a submission.

I don't think he can knock George out. I think George could actually win the striking by having Nick fear the take down. I think George will be able to take Nick down at will. I think George will be able to do considerable damage on the ground.

Nick has avoided great wrestlers for a few years now. There is chance during that time he has improved his wrestling a great deal. That being said, just compare the two fighters bodies. If by some miracle Diaz is Georges equal in wrestling, I think he will get out muscled.
