The Official TV Thread

CBS is going to attempt to butcher Sherlock.  Why does US TV try and ruin everything?  Lucy Liu as Watson?  What is this?

Wow, I thought you were kidding and had to google it to see it for myself.

The Wire is incredible.

So all you guys were saying this, and my brothers were telling me this, and I'm like "yeah sure"...then I watched it.

F.  Was it ever good.  I was addicted.

Now, I've seen season 1 and 2...but where can I find the rest?

It's actually pretty affordable on DVD. Something like 130 or something for the whole series.

But, yeah, can't recommend it highly enough. My favourite show of all time and a massive gap between it and whatever would be #2.

Is it better than HBO's Rome? Cause that series is beyond epic.

It's suspenseful without being annoying.  The characters are great, and the dialogue and writing is just fantastic.

I'm not much of a connoisseur of great storytelling, but man, great show.  This coming from a guy that enjoys trash like Californication.

The scope of the wire is incredible, they cover so many areas of society and do a great job of connecting all of them.

Almost every character is perfectly casted and the dialogue is great.

Watching the Wrath of Grapes, didn't know he'd been offered a contract in Toronto and that he turned it down due to giving his word to Colorado.

I'm on season 2 of the Wire after going through all of Breaking Bad. Not sure exactly which one I like better but I think I'm leaning towards the Wire. Definitely two of the best shows I've ever watched, if not the best.

I wanted him to die. He was getting severely annoying, yet at the same time I felt kind of sad when he went.

Was a good send off. Was that a zombie cow he discovered before getting it?
Carl is really starting to become a pain in the ass eh.
