The Official TV Thread

If anyone's looking for a show that pushes the boundaries the first season of a show by the name of Banshee just wrapped up and it was a pretty good time. Ridiculous premise(ex-con impersonates a small town sheriff), pulpy and ludicrously violent but it never took itself too seriously and had some good performances/characters.

I thought it was a rather dull episode for a finale.

I thought it was a good episode with lots of action, but had a weak ending.

I agree. I PVR'd it and watched it yesterday. The ending left me wanting more and not in the usual sense that a finale does.

Has anybody watched "Vikings?"

The reviews on it are pretty good. I've got the first 5 episodes. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

First two episodes were quite slow but it appears to be picking up in the 3rd. Could be worth following for a bit!

All caught up on Shameless. - Still lovin' it... great show. Just started American Horror Story (4 episodes into season 1.) Also brilliant in a whole different way. - I watch this one on my down time at work because I'm not sure I can handle it alone at night.  :o

1st season of American Horror Story wasn't bad.  The second season was awful.  Some interesting characters and some decent episodes but ultimately way too busy.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it was awful, but it was definitely a step down from season 1. It was still better than most other shows.

Think season 2 is worth giving season 3 a shot, busta? - Because I'm really enjoying season 1.

Well, each season is a self contained story, so, even if you do skip season 2, you'll be fine with season 3 when it starts up. I'd still give it a watch. It got a little convoluted at times and they may have tried to do too much, but it was still very watchable and entertaining. It just wasn't as . . . well, creepy and disturbing as the first season was.

Ah. Kind of like Creepshow for TV where each season is a different story? - Not sure if you remember that flick.

Don't really remember it, no, but, that's how it works, yeah. A good chunk of the cast returns in season 2 (and is reportedly returning for season 3) but the stories aren't connected in the slightest.

Cool. Jessica Lange is one scary broad (sorry, ladies for the slur but it's the truth.)  Busta, I might be a little older than you (or not.) -  Creepshow was a Stephen King movie from the early 80s where 5 or 6 of his short stories were put in to one movie. All cheese but it sure scared the hell of of me as a kid.

Oh, I know the movie. I just didn't realize they made a TV series as well.
