Season 2 of the Wire is a funny one, mostly everyone I've talked to will say that it was a let down on the first time around. but ends up being much better on rewatches. I've seen it a few times now, and I love season 2. When you see the rest of the seasons, and go back to season 2, you see how of fits into the story much better.

Season 5 was the one that was a dip in quality for me, I thought the  rest was great.

Yeah. I can see how it works to connect the rest of the seasons. I just didn't find the characters at the dockyard or around the Greek to be as compelling as Avon, Stringer, etc. They didn't feel as well rounded.

I found Frank to be one of the best characters on the show.

I think a lot of season 2 is good, and showing the decay at the heart of the economies that used to power cities and disincentivized drug dealing was obviously a huge part of the political message, but I still think the sort of cramming together of that and the larger cops/drug dealer stuff never really clicked. Especially with the homeland security stuff and...well, it just sort of seemed like trying to tell three stories at once.

I finally got around to watching Fauda on Netflix. I'm six episodes in and it's very, very good. It's all in Hebrew and Arabic, so you have to be in the mood for subtitles (which is why I put it off).

In a really weird coincidence I watched Season 2 a few months after they found a Semi with deceased, sex trafficked women in the UK so it really hit home, even if it wasn't as compelling overall.

Emmy nominations were announced today and not surprisingly Ted Lasso got a ton of love, with nominations in Best Comedy Series, Best Actor in a Comedy Series and 7 nominations in the best supporting actor categoris. It looks like every single series regular got nominated except for the guy who played Jamie, which if I'm being honest, may have been my favourite performance of all of them.

Obviously it's got a big life online and in memes but if anyone hasn't caught it I Think You Should Leave on Netflix is really, really funny. The second season that recently came out is maybe not quite as good as the first but for anyone who likes really weird sketch comedy it's pretty memorable.

Thanks for the recommendation.  Sunday is my paperwork day?Im now laughing uncontrollably

Just finished The Stand. I quite liked it (definitely better than the previous version.)
I think they could have easily stretched it out even further and developed some of the characters a bit more. I'd liked to have seen how Tom Cullen rescues Stu in more detail. Trashcan Man was barely featured.

I'd recommend it. I hope they do a follow-up season.

Finished the last episode of Season 2 of Ted Lasso.  It really does hold up to the first season.  Some of the individual performances are really good

Yes it is. Billy Bob is a great actor....the first 2 eps of Season 4 are a little surreal as he's dealing with
an issue but after that it picks up well.

Sorry that it's the last of the series
