Phew so it wasn't just me. Anyway if Edmonton and Columbus both pass on Yakupov I can't see Montreal not taking him. Burke really needs to trade up to 2 if Edmonton takes Murray and Howson doesn't want Yak.

Because I'll spend the entire night sobbing. Montreal gets the best player on the draft and Burke passes on one of Gally or Grigo.
 
Seems this top 10 is going to impossible to nail down. Seriously, assuming no trades, if someone predicts 5 out of the first 10 correctly, kudos. 
 
At this point, I'm assuming anything we hear about potential draft picks is misinformation, whether intentional or not.

That's what I first thought about Burke saying he was likely picking a defenceman. Why release that to the media?

I will be...confused if the Leafs use the #5 pick on a defenseman. Well, unless the top 4 are all forwards. Even then though.

Exactly. And, it kind of contradicts what was being said earlier in the week by the team - that, given how close the players in that are available to them are in terms of skill, they were leaning towards drafting based on organizational need.

Or, it's an indication that he has a trade lined up involving a defenceman or two, but, that's probably stretching the point.

That said, if there's a centerman to be had at 5, why on God's green earth would Burke pass on him?  That just doesn't make sense to me.
