Does anybody else not care whatsoever about pro wrestling? Just zero interest for me at any point in my life.

Do I have respect/admiration for the athletic ability of wrestlers.  Sure.
Was I a huge wrestling fan in the 90s/very early 2000s.  Yep.
Have I watched more than 15 minutes of wrestling in the last 20 years.  Probably not.

Yeah I just don't care about it anymore.

I still watch it, but haven't watched the WWE product in a long time.  Both because of their ties to the Saudi government, and also some of the shady dealings of Vince McMahon (detailed by Vice's series "Dark Side of the Ring," which even if you don't like wrestling is a fantastic true crime show).

However, I've really gotten into the new big promotion AEW - the characters are more relatable, and I find both the wrestling and storylines speak to me more than WWE has in several years.  I really enjoy it!

As a child I had a fleeting interest, but not a drop as an adult.

I feel bad for judging adults who like it, but I do.
Lol at your last sentence. I don?t think I pass judgment on people who are fans, but it?s just so uninteresting to me, no more or less compelling than watching, say, Paw Patrol. Sometimes during an hour long episode of Puck Soup with 15 minutes to go they start talking about wrestling, and it?s like, ?oh, I guess it?s a 45 minute podcast for me today?.

A few years back myself and my now wife were at Universal Studios in Orlando and as we were leaving the park for the evening there was a man with a sign trying to convince people to go in and watch a live recording of some wrestling.

So since we were on holiday we thought ah sure, why not.

It was that TNA Impact wrestling show. The big draw the night we went in was Kurt Angle (well, I?d heard of him?)

Without wanting to be judgy or anything, the crowd most certainly consisted of a majority of a certain demographic. The kind you may see represented in TV shows like My Name is Earl. It was quite interesting people watching cos a lot of them were VERY into it, very invested and very intense.

Time to bail on Twitter

I'm not worried that it'll mean a huge change. Musk will find out pretty quickly what the people at Twitter already know, namely that unmoderated social media sites quickly become toxic cesspools that nobody who isn't a complete and total chud would want to use. Twitter's laughable attempts at weeding out the crazies aren't done out of the goodness of their hearts or from any political agenda. It's because they don't want to become facebook and be known as the place where people's racist uncles post their nonsense.

No multi-billion dollar tech company has anything resembling actual left wing politics. They do what they do because it's what the market tells them to. Musk is going to have to buy a lot more of the company if he wants them to nosedive it's value by chasing people off.

teehee
A Twitter shareholder on Tuesday filed a securities fraud lawsuit against Elon Musk, alleging that the billionaire Tesla CEO's late disclosure of his stake in Twitter cost investors money and saved Musk around $143 million.

Marc Bain Rasella filed the suit in federal court in New York and seeks to represent all investors who sold Twitter stock between March 24 and April 1. He argues that because Musk waited days to declare his purchase of Twitter stock, he depressed the share price and ripped off others who sold Twitter stock.

Under securities laws, Musk was supposed to alert the Securities and Exchange Commission within 10 days after purchasing 5% or more of Twitter's stock.

But Musk did not file his SEC paperwork until April 4, or 11 days after he was supposed to, and by that point, Musk had amassed a more than 9% stake in the social media company, becoming its largest shareholder for the price of about $2.6 billion.

Alright this is getting much stupider much faster now.

You don't think elon buying out Twitter and taking it private is a smart decision? My word! (I don't, either. It's already toxic enough.)

He doesn't want to join the board because then he has more restrictions on buying stocks.  He wants to take over twitter hostile by just getting a majority of shares with private purchase.

I choose to believe he is doing this entirely because he is upset about that person who is tracking his airplane travel.

If this brings back "freedom" to twitter or whatever then I at least hope it means "Italian Elon Musk" gets unbanned. That guy was based.

I don't think unbridled freedom is really going to be all that great for musk in the long run.

Anyone else get their licence plate renewal refund (bribe) from the Ontario government as a completely random amount? I got $330 and my wife got $490. These amounts make no sense at all.

I believe it is retroactive from March 2020 when the pandemic started. So it'll depend on your birth month and how many years you paid for your sticker (I presume).

My wife and I are both January and had paid through to 2023, and each ended up getting $340 back.

Ya, I was confused by the amount too. It's based on the number of months paid after March 01, 2020.

This government is just flat out ridiculous. This bribe is going to win them the election.

I stupidly missed the deadline to file for the bribes but got the cheques anyway.

Will be in Toronto for 5 nights soon.

Any restaurant recommendations in the Entertainment District/Central Downtown/Kensington Market areas would be much appreciated.

Staying in the Waterfront area near CN Tower.
