I just wish his heart and determination would rub off on a few more players on this team. We need a Zack attack on on all four lines.

He brings a lot of things this Leaf team sometimes lacks.  And to think some people actually wanted him traded.

A hometown discount would do well fo him and the team.  Don?t think he?ll be going anywhere, anytime.
If he does this again next year we probably won't be able to afford him. He's not taking a discount. Why would he when no one else did?
Maybe he'd rather stay in Toronto than make maximum dollars somewhere else? Not everyone is as greedy as...[fill in the blank]
I don't think Matthews or anyone else is greddy. Your time in the NHL can be very short so I'm not against a player getting as much as they can. Hyman will be no different and I won't blame him at all if he did leave for more money. We'll see what happens though.
I won't blame him if he wants to be a greedy little %&*$# like the others. That's the way the system is set up and if he chooses to take advantage of it, that's his right. Still, he seems like the one guy (to me) who might stick around and take less to give the whole team a better chance.

Even at his relatively meager salary, he's still set for life unless he does something really stupid.

Zachary Hyman better keep us fans in mind when he's making decisions and negotiating his next personal remuneration contract that dictates to a great extent his family's future well-being for the rest of their lives.

His unborn children should know that their father owes us fans a discounted to market-rate contract because there are some other players are not performing to our expectations over the past 120 days.

Those other players held a gun to the Leafs' brass' collective heads when negotiating their employment contracts, and Zachary Hyman is going to answer for that.

Matthews from all accounts didn't hold a gun to their heads. That was a very quiet negotiation which is no surprise seeing its Bobby Orr's agency. Marner's was a lot different because of his father's comments and such but they still didn't hold a gun to their heads. Leafs could have easily let him or even Willy sit. Either way the players exercised their rights and I have zero issue with that.

He will take a home town discount for two reasons.  One, he has a deep physic ability knowing he will score the overtime goal in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals and be a God in this city and have a bronze statue with all the hero's.
Two, an unknown company, will buy 4 million of Hyman's children's books to be distributed to the children of Africa in need of fresh Hyman-esk reading materials.
