To everyone in Canada outside of BC, you're welcome.

Dumb. Guarantee that bites them in the ass

LA was going to have a very tough time winning the series anyways.  If they lose it'll be for a multitude of reasons, not a freakin' tweet having any impact.  Nor should it be anything other than a lighthearted jab at stories that have come out lately about the Canucks being disliked.

If a player had said it I could see how Canucks players might get upset about it, but sheesh, the reaction is almost as funny as the tweet was at the time.

He's not saying they're going to lose because of the tweet.  All he's saying is it will bite them because he thinks they're still going to lose the series.

But if they're going to lose anyways I'm not sure how that "bites" them. I'm still happy the Canucks lost last night even if they go on to win the next 4.

They wouldn't have tweeted that had they lost. I've seen lesser wake up worse teams - Nucks didn't look good last night why poke the bear?

Because they'll look stupid for bragging after winning 1 game.

I think some of these guys have been out of the playoffs too long

I can see how being a fan of a team where one playoff win can lead to their fans setting cars on fire would make you frame this in an overdramatic way but if Vancouver goes on to win the series I don't think people will look back and think much about the tweet one way or the other.

Yeah. At worst, it'll look kind of silly, which, really, is kind of what it's meant to be.

I'm not saying the tweet is going to win or lose the series but I think it will affect the series now and to that I question why LA would bother

If that tweet provides Vancouver with any inspiration whatsoever it's simultaneously the saddest/funniest statement that could possibly be made about the Canucks.

Absolutely - it was a great chirp

I don't think the tweet is a big deal, just something that will look a little embarrassing if they go on to lose.  Hence what I thought Madferret meant by "bite them in the ass".  If that's not what he meant, okay, but I don't understand the point of the insult.

Why? It's not like the tweet said "Haha, the Canucks sux and we're totally going to win". It was a joke about how fans in Canada don't tend to like the Canucks as a team. If the Rangers win tonight and someone says "We did this for Maple Leafs fans" I think I'd manage to hold on to my monocle.

Well that seals it for the Kings. There's just something about guarantees and people involved with the Sens  ;)  ;D

I know he had a rough season and everything, but seeing that game sure does make it suck that Burke couldn't figure out a deal for Richards when he was available. Would have been a perfect fit here I think.

IIRC, Holmgren preferred to move Richards to the west and when he was able to get the return he did from the Kings he didn't even go back to Burke who had Kulemin and Kadri on the table.
