Rupp's hit on Oshie worthy of suspension...

Disgusting hit, and it could cost Oshie his chance at competing in the playoffs. Rupp is just a dirty player.

Really sucks that so many marquee guys on top teams are succumbing to injuries, right before the playoffs start.

Welcome to the job Stephane Quintal.

I love how TSN is in "the Canadiens are the only Canadian playoff team" form and trying to justify that hit.

So far the Blues have actually downgraded in goal with Miller over Halak.

It's scary how downhill things have gone for them. The entire team is in a bad state right now. Miller not playing well, Backes/Oshie/Tarasenko all injured.

That trade has not worked out for them so far.

As much has been made about Toronto's eight-game losing streak in regulation time, the Blues are on the verge of closing out their season losing six times in a row in regulation. Crazy.

Can their slide be chalked up to goaltending?

Well, coming into today's game, Miller had a .905 Sv% in St Louis, compared to Halak's .917 while he was there, so, yeah, part of it can definitely be chalked up to goaltending.

ArponBasu: Just noticed the Panthers power play finished the season at 10% and the penalty kill was at 76%. That has to be the worst special teams ever

Round 1 matchup:
Detroit vs Boston
Montreal vs Tampa Bay

Any other matchups that are set?
Columbus - Pittsburgh
Philadelphia - Rangers
Anaheim - Dallas
San Jose - Los Angeles

I think the other 2 are now set after the Blues got shutout this afternoon. Colorado - Minnesota an St. Louis - Chicago.

Can't see st Loius beating Chicago.
Detroit might upset Boston.
Rangers and philly? Leaning towards philly.

BNHarrington: And the end of OT also means Leino has gone through the season without a goal for the mere price of a $4.5 million cap hit. #Sabres

And we complain about Orr being useless (he is).

These 1st round matchups are refreshing. Definitely a new look after years of some stale rivalries.

Players are mailing it in.  So many passengers.

Imagine this life folks.

Oilers classy farewell to Ryan Smyth, captain for the game & all...

Barry Trotz was fired by the Predators.
1196 Games 557-479-60 -100  Average 87 point pace playing a tough Western Conference with half a deck most years.    14 years is a long time for a guy to spend with one organization but he would be a guy I would consider.  He did a lot with limited rosters.
