This would be like if Steve Simmons publicly said "you know what, maybe Phil Kessel wasn't fat and lazy".

What happened last night specifically?

5-0 loss to the Sabres.

At home. When the Sabres were on the 2nd game of a back-to-back.

Against the Sabres. Did I mention it was against the Sabres?

Wow, didn't realize that Buffalo was on a back to back too.  How the hell do you get beat at home 5-0 by Buffalo?

They beat Calgary the night before in OT too, so it was even more playing than usual. Granted it was only 1:30 into it when Eichel sealed it.

This is pretty great.

Apparently, Eichel also shook off Housley?s sign to switch off at the face off before scoring. #GMEichel #HeadCoachEichel

I'm pretty sure he was just telling Eichel his draft position.

And which C spot he'd occupy on the U.S. team if NHLers were allowed at the Olympics.

Calgary Flames fans are pretty good at coming up with sick burns.

I hate to ask about the niggling details but was Larsson particularly at fault?  (You're not expecting Hall to score 6 goals every night are you?)

This is not a goal.

You'd be surprised how much impact having a quality puck possession impact with high level offensive skills instead of an average possession, low offence defenceman can have on a game.

Also, I mean, it's more of a statement on the direction of the team and how that trade played into it than anything else.

(For the record, Larsson was -1 - though Buffalo only scored 2 ES goals. He was on the ice for 2 of Buffalo's 3 power play goals, and in the penalty box for the 3rd.)

Yeah, I haven't looked into his fuller comments but I don't get the feeling that he's turned on Larsson or anything. Just that this team is pretty bad on the wing so trading an All-star winger (and then Eberle too for kicks) might not have been a great idea. I mean, these were their lines at practice yesterday:

Caggiula-McDavid-Slepyshev
Maroon-Strome-Kassian
Khaira-Letestu-Puljujarvi
Cammalleri/Lucic-Draisaitl-Pakarinen

Granted they're missing Nuge, but that's still absolutely brutal.

Just in case there was any doubt that Cherry is a racist, xenophobic POS.

And looking at the other side of the coin.... Maybe he just wants more spots for the young kids of our country to have a better shot at growing there game.

The best shot they have at growing their game is playing against the best possible competition for their age group. You don't improve by playing inferior opponents

These are people who have immigrated here legally, might very well be residents/citizens.  Are you saying they shouldn't be allowed the same opportunities because they were born elsewhere?

Nothing strikes me as possibly being more intrinsically antithetical to this country and its values than caring more about where someone is from than what they bring to the table.

Edmonton got an OT winner called back because McDavid's skate clipped the goalie's stick on his way past as Lucic Strome was popping in the rebound.

And then this happened.

I love it.
