No. He got moved for an NHL calibre young defender. A 5-7 type, maybe, but better than Carcone.

Hearing Daniel Sprong has been traded to #Ducks for Marcus Pettersson.

Pettersson's possession stats are a bit tough to examine because of how garbage Anaheim is in that department in general, but this really doesn't seem like a good deal for Pittsburgh. I get that Sprong isn't producing much right now but he put up a PPG as a 20-year old rookie in the AHL just last season. This would be like if we traded Kapanen for a depth defender after last season because he only scored 9 points in 38 NHL games. Pretty bizarre.

I guess those posts are why I remembered those 2 names.

Yeah, let's check back in on this in a year or two. Both have put up very good results in the AHL and neither has really gotten a legitimate shot in the NHL yet.
