Rough night for Sandin but Liljegren continues his solid playoff possession numbers.

There was some high praise for Hollowell on the Sun report, said he was the best D man for the Marlies and saved two goals in the first period.

By all accounts he's been very good. I only watched the 3rd period and he made some nice stops.

Marlies lose 5-3 after leading 3-0 with 6:00 mins to go in the 2nd. Couple of lucky bounces off Rosen for the tying goal and one off Borgman for the winner with 1:40 to go. Add an empty netter to round out the scoring. Series tied at 1.

Looks like Lindgren was responsible for the tying goal, why tinker in the playoffs when things are working.
He wasn't on the ice so I don't know how it was on him. Liljegren and Rosen were and it went off Rosen. Either way, the Marlies are going to play who they think are their best. It appears Lindgren is higher on the depth chart then Hollowell. While the loss is disappointing, they were winning 3-0 so it was working for 35 minutes. Couple of bad breaks and that was the difference really. Checkers never scored what would be considered a good goal.

Sorry about that, thought I read it in a PPP article yesterday. We have 3 at home now so let's hope they can win, win, win.  The more playoff experience the better off all our prospects will be.

Listen I had to look at the vid 3 times to make sure so no worries from me. I'll be heading down on Friday so hopefully they can put it away then! And def, the more playoff experience, the better. Apparently the Marlies have played the most playoff games for a team in the last 8 years or something like that. That's good.

Keefe?s remarks following the Marlies? first loss this postseason.

Carcone with a huge game tonight. 3g 1a... Marlies win 4-3 in OT to tie the series. This guy looks like he can be a player. Also looks like a good trade. Leivo for him.

It certainly does . Korshkov seems to be slowly rounding into form too. This team still has a good chance to repeat . Series tied 2-2. Game 5 tonight in T.O.!!!

Some comments from my viewing, Sandin looked very good carrying the puck, but him and Lilypad looked shaky on the D.  I think they both may need another year in the AHL sad to say.  However who really impressed was Lindgren (very poised and positioned himself defensively on each shift). Borgman was very good as well, think he would be back with the Leafs playing like that.  Rosen still not back to normal in my eyes as yet.
Marchment and Engvall can form a sound base for the 4th line, Engvall a large upgrade on the Goat.  Marchment plays like a beast and the Leafs need one out there and he can play as well.
Yes Carcone looked very good as well but still question whether he tipped in goal 2. Bracco played great.  Moore a little flat although he is trying.

Good analysis. I do think Liljegren will get a look next year. Sandin does struggle at times but all in all, he's played unreal. Not sure he gets a chance but he isn't far off. I love that Keefe keeps playing the kids even after they make mistakes. Engvall looks very fast for a big man and Korshkov is getting better. I think there are a number of Marlies that can push for a job with the big club next year. Brooks, Moore, Marchment, Engvall, Bracco to name a few up front. Rosen, Borgman, Liljegren and outside shot, Sandin.
Let's not forget about Mikheyev who will probably be with the Leafs next season also.
Just a note... Lindgren looked great last night and before him so did Duszak and Hollowell. Marlies are deep on D. I think Dubas is right when he talked about improving from within. Our bottom 6 should look a lot different next season.

Ya the comments on Hollowell are very very promising, Gillman spoke high praise about how he sees the game perfectly and can control things. Where is he on our depth chart?  Duzak also has a good hockey sense.  Wonder if we can get another couple of promising D at the draft?

I know Sandin has been playing well but these last two games he hasn't been his best, a small sample to be sure. He sure can carry the puck through the zone though.  Perhaps he will have to be paired with a more Defensive RHD, right now the RHD all look like puck movers.

Agree and him struggling is also very important to his growth. He sure can carry the puck and usually makes really good passes. I'm impressed with him and look forward to watching him play tonight.

Thought the Marlies outplayed Charlotte but ended up losing. Outshot them 41-23 and lost 4-1 with an empty netter. They gave up 2 shorties in the process also. I didn't like Hutchinson's game at all. Looked weak on a couple. Loved Borgman's game. That guy has got some skill and made a number of great plays in both ends. The kids looked pretty good on D as well despite a -4 for Sandin.  Lindgren looked fine playing with the Borg! Rosen did not play.

Ya Rosen didn't look good after he came back. Right now it looks like Sandin needs another year or so with the Marlies. Completely agree that Borgman looked like our best D and Lindgren very poised.

Their goalie (cant remember his name) played Goal against the Leafs in Tampa bay years ago when I went to a game there.  He played well, Hutch not so much.

Tokarski, he was the junior goalie that gave Pierre McGuire an orgasm on air. Former Hab and others
