Kaberle had a conditional NTC way back when.

I think it was just based on making or missing playoffs not TOI though.

Kaberle and Kubina both had similar NTCs - if the Leafs missed the playoffs, they had no trade protection that off-season.

Ah yeah those ring a bell.

After starting the season 16-3-2, including a 17 game point streak, the Islanders now find themselves outside the playoff race. Since their point was snapped, they've gone 17-17-4. Looks like whatever "magic" Barry Trotz had is wearing off.

Bogosian's in the last year of his contract so it kinda makes sense for him to be comfortable terminating his deal. I certainly wouldn't call Bogosian a good defenceman but I'm sure there's some team out there that would sign him to a league minimum contract to be their 7/8 guy heading into the playoffs.

Yeah. He's not very good, but, teams always need extra blueliners in the playoffs.

Is he worse than Ceci?

If he'd sign for low $$$ I'd take him over Marincin in a heartbeat and as insurance in case of yet more injuries.

I think the odds of him being worse than any of Ceci/Marincin/Liljegren are a lot higher than the odds of him being better. I wouldn't lose any sleep if the Leafs signed him cheap and gave him a shot, but I wouldn't expect the experiment to last very long.

The NHL! Notice the ref on the left of the screen. The one with the perfect view.

Don't worry, he ended up being fined $5k afterward.

Yes. Slower, just as bad in terms of decision making, and more injury prone.

Elvis Merzlikins immediately followed up an 8 game winning streak where he collected 5 shutouts with a 7 game losing streak where his save percentage was .892.

That's just nutty.

Re:  Bouwmeester

St.Louis announced he will be out for the rest of the season including playoffs.  Bouwmeester grateful to medical team that saved his life:

?It happened in the absolute best place that it could happen because of all the protocols they have in place and how people responded so quickly,? he said. ?No. 1, they saved my life and No. 2, the fact that they could get on it so fast was very helpful.?
