Pretty surprised nobody acquired Bernier at the deadline to shore up someone's goaltending. He's having a terrific season.

Dallas pulled it out in OT. Final shot tally was 52-17. Over *one-third* (16/47) of Stars games have gone to OT/SO, and they've lost 12 of those games in OT/SO.

What a crazy year for Dallas, including the covid issues.

I feel like this is a select circumstance where it's morally acceptable to hope for an injury.

Like watching position players throw an inning (or two) of relief and he's a knuckeballer

That's kind of nuts.

One team plays like Tyson Barrie and the other plays like Nikita Zaitsev.

Three of the four current 4th place teams (Nashville, Montreal, Arizona) have a negative goal differential. Two of those three are closely trailed by another team with a negative goal differential.

You can do that to Vancouver, too. 6-1-0 against Ottawa. 13-18-3 against the rest of the league. They're not a factor in the playoff chase without dominating Ottawa. The only other team they're .500 or better against is the Leafs.

Take out Edmonton and Vancouver (1-13-2), and Ottawa is actually above .500 (16-14-2)!

Beyond Toronto and Winnipeg, the North division is a pretty sad group.

The entire fanbase is looking at you to turn their 18-wheeler that's speeding towards a cliff around. No pressure kid.

If he doesn't score in the first period, Montreal is going to implode.

All that "which Leaf goalie starts game 1" talk made me wonder what Vegas is going to do there. Lehner looked to be their starter at the beginning of the season after his playoff run and contract extension, but some early struggles and then a concussion that kept him out for almost 6 weeks meant the net was all Fleury's. And Fleury was looking like he was shoe-in for a Vezina nomination with a 16-5 record and .933 Sv% in his first 21 games. But then Lehner returned from his concussion and these are their stats since then:

Fleury: 5-5-0, 2.53 GAA, .912 Sv%
Leher: 9-0-1, 1.58 GAA, .938 Sv%

Vegas took a lot of flack (mostly from Fleury's agent) for going with Lehner in last years playoffs. Are they going to do the same despite Fleury holding down the fort so well during Lehner's injury?

They'll go with the guy they think gives them the best chance to win. I don't think DeBoer is a huge MAF fan anyway.

In all seriousness, it?s going to interesting to see how he pans out. Can he succeed the way DeBrincat has - though, without anywhere near the talent around him - or will he be yet another small skilled forward who can?t translate his talents at the NHL level?

He looks tiny out there. Had a few shots but other then that, pretty uneventful.
