Since the Edmonton series, teams have been all over the short bump pass that the Leafs have used all year to avoid the forechck in their d-zone.
I think it's part fatigue, physical and mental on the Leafs part and also teams having enough video to key in on what made the Leafs so successful in transition.
It's a pretty ballsy move from opposing teams, because if you press that hard with multiple forecheckers and miss, you've often got an outmanmed situation going the other way, with multiple players needing to change direction and accelerate the opposite way.
I know their are a lot of statistical components that suggest that this result regression was to be expected, but that's just some of the systems stuff I've noticed.
