I can see someone claiming Vesey cause he's so cheap.

I can see no-one claiming him cause he's garbage and Dubas having to do some juggling with the cap situation. Who's fault is that Kyle?

He's only making 900k his entire hit is buried.  Where's the issue?

Couldn't stick with Buffalo what does that tell you? The issue is when you fill spots with scrubs because of cap issues scrubs is exactly what you get. Said it a thousand times Dubas handcuffed this team. Question now is trying to fix it.

The last time I checked the "handcuffed" team was on pace for 109 points over 82.  Sorry they couldn't maintain that crazy 130 point pace they were on before this recent slump, it happens.  What more can they do?

There's very few players that this would make sense for, and none of them are rentals. So wonder if he's been having discussions about something bigger.

Kerfoot + Robertson + useful pick for Arvidsson (1M ret) or Dylan Larkin (2M retained)

Anticipated a global pandemic that wiped up potentially as much as $6mil in available cap space for the 20/21 season.

Used telepathy to bend the trajectory of the puck that hit Simmonds.

The Boy King is such a dope.

Larkin's not going anywhere, but I was intrigued with a report that said Mantha might be available.

Although the problem with any bigger forward trade like these is that it messes up the Leafs current expansion draft plans. So you have to factor in either the cost of bribing Seattle to stay away from someone like Holl or you have to be willing to let him get picked in the draft.

Hard to really say where this team is because of the setup this year. Whether it's the injuries or schedule I haven't liked the way the team has played since the Oiler series. Have they been the crappier team in all these games? Definitely not but thing that always creeps in the back of my mind is the character and makeup of this team. Is it a bonafide contender? I don't think so and I feel it boils down to  character and OV was exactly right couple years ago when he said I hope they're gonna learn,?  ?But it's up to them how they want to do it. If they want to play for themselves or if they want to win a Stanley Cup?they have to play differently.? I'm not sure if that's completely happened.

Any link to the Dubas presser?

Fair warning it went for 38 minutes but there's a video of it there.

This team will always be judged by how it does in the playoffs, we don't have those results in yet so time will tell.  I've liked how the team has looked the majority of the season so far.  Even the recent slump with the exception of the last 2 games they were playing well and got goalied by multiple teams.  I'll save my bashing of the team until they flame out in the playoffs again.

That Buffalo is where offence dies? I mean, look at Hall's lack of production this season, Skinner's massive drop off, the end of Staal's resurgence, etc. I wouldn't use decisions made by Buffalo's front office or players struggling to produce offence with the Sabres to support any argument other than the Sabres being awful.

Anybody think they go after a goalie too?

I can see the team trying to find an upgrade for the #3 goalie, but, outside of that, no. A major move in net is more of an off-season move.

Detroit should definitely keep Larkin, but if Yzerman bites, then I'm more than willing to screw up the expansion draft plans for Holl/Dermott (and Engvall/Kerfoot)

I mean, Bogosian couldn't make it in Buffalo and he's suddenly a player the Leafs can't afford to lose for a long stretch. I wouldn't look at Buffalo as a model franchise when it comes to player development and deployment.

I'm going to assume that the presser was a whole lot of Dubas talking about nothing, given the biggest quote seems to be that he'd "consider" moving a top prospect if the deal was right.

Really sticking his neck out there.

What do you want him to say? Yup, looking to trade Freddie, Nylander and Matthews to, the bum with the sore wrist.
