Ray and Gord are so, so good at keeping the broadcast interesting even when the game is a complete write-off.
 
That was a heck of a game by the Finns. Nothing flashy...just relentless work ethic for a 1-0 win to advance to the semi-final. If Sweden wins their game I think Canada gets Finland next which could be a very tough game.

If the Czech Republic win, Canada gets them

Hard to believe that beecher hit wasn't 5?? My tournament is going to be ok, I want Canada to win but can be ok with anyone other than the US.

I hate the US too much to see any wrongs by their opponents!!!!:)
 
Yeah but I liked watching Robertson so that was a bit of a shame. Likelihood is we get the Finns next - already up 2-0 on the Czechs.

I'm a better lacrosse player than a hockey player but I honestly never noticed a difference.  I always had good ability to torque on my wrist with them on.  So much of the safety in hockey seems to be silly nonsense.  Guys not wanting to wear helmets, not wanting to wear visors.  Not wanting to wear neck guards or kevlar suits for blade protection. 
 
Results for Thursday Jan. 2: (Quarter-Finals)

Team Canada solidly defeated Team Slovakia 6-1.  With Alex Lafreniere back, Canada played a total team effort and gave the Slovaks no chance to mount a comeback.  Of course, things started off on a wrong note with Team Canada?s Nick Foote?s major penalty & game misconduct.  Killing off that penalty did wonders for the Canadian?s confidence because after that it was all systems go for Canada.
