Guys like Auston, Mitch and Willy are the guys who should be at the All-Star game because of their abilities with the puck and having fun in the skills competition. And they're still young. JT is a great player but an all-star game doesn't do much to showcase his skills, mainly mucking in front of the net and dishing it of to an open guy who buries it.

And I always come back to this, but I, and the vast majority of Leafs fans, don't even think for one second about any fanbase of other teams pretty much ever. They mean so little that I only think about the Leafs. Not our fault other fanbase are weak and have some weird OCD towards us.

Here in Ottawa I love that their fanbase culture is:
A:  Hate the Leafs first.
B:  Love the Senators second.
C:  Strong dislike for the Canadiens third.
