2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

For the sake of his health I hope it's not, but there's probably a slim chance that's the last we've seen of Murray as a Leaf.
It could very well be and that's too bad really. He just can't stay healthy and I'm not laying fault with him. Is what it is.
I'm still hopeful he can be the back up come payoff time and Woll can go on a run with the Marlies.

I think we're close to a point where even if Murray becomes healthy come playoff time it might make more sense to stick with Woll. Especially if he continues to look solid in his (probably) 2 remaining starts this season.

Same. I feel like that's better for Woll's development than mostly riding the pine with the Leafs.

If things come down to needing Woll to start in the playoffs we are on, well, thin ice.  That's a helluva lot of pressure for a guy with a handful of NHL games.

It's a gamble, for sure. I think I've seen enough of Murray at this point in the games that he's played to conclude he's a below average option as a starter. If Woll has some good games to close the season, he could be a better bet, inexperience notwithstanding.

Think Cam Ward, 2006.  Positive vibes only.

Binnington won in 2019 as a rookie with 33 NHL games played.

Yeah, but then he went insane.

I will trade insanity later for a Cup anytime...

Yup.  I was born in 1969, can't even claim to have seen a Cup win as a kid, lived through decades of disappointment.  I just want to see the Leafs win a damn Cup once before I'm too old.

There's a reasonable number in which it would behoove us to retain Bunting (Jarnkrok-ish deal, for example), but he deserves a shot at making generational money to take care of his family.

With the Leafs, all of that is moot if the referee cabal decrees Bunting's mere existence on the ice to be an affront to their delicate sensibilities.

Never use behoove again. That was gross.

I hear the summer of 69 was pretty awesome.  There was this guy who bought a 6 string and played it till his fingers bled.  He and his friends from school, they had a band and they tried real hard.

I think Bryan Adams lied in that song, he was only 10 years old I doubt he was in a band and working at a drive in.  Liar!

You and me the same. 1968 for me. The Leafs were technically still the champs in May of that year but ?whatever . I don?t recall it.

And let?s just hope we win soon and experience a brief bout of insanity because of it and not after dementia sets in from old age first :) or maybe that?s a better outcome if they don?t win in our lifetimes anyways. Lol
