I wonder how much of this is about covering themselves in case of a lawsuit. Like, he's definitely going to be let go, but they need to document some stuff.

That's possible, yeah. This is different from being fired for performances reasons of course.

Especially if, and I have no idea if this is the case, but if you're firing him for reasons beyond on-ice performance then potentially you may not have to pay him the balance of his deal.

Especially when are firing someone for actions that were years before he actually worked for you.

Sean McMorrow was a career minor leaguer who only played 25 games under Peters in 08/09.

Michal Jordan was a Canes defencemen who is now in the KHL. He played 74 games under Peters between 2014-2016.

Come to think of it I remember it seemed kinda weird that Peters left Carolina in the first place. Maybe that seems less weird now...

Just asking. What do you mean by "only"?

I mean he only played 25 games under Peters. There was no hidden meaning there.
Thanks for clarifying. I took it originally to be a discredit to him because 25 isn't many/enough kind of thing.

I think that's a common theme here. Players were basically scared to say anything against their coach/management. I think the dirt on Babs has and will help guys step up and tell their stories. Like someone else mentioned, this could be the NHL's MeToo moment.

Seravalli is crushing it today.
He sure is. He's seems to be the pied piper here and players are reaching out to him. I think there is going to be so much more coming out in the next little while. I wonder how many coaches/management and even players are feeling a little uncomfortable today.

Should probably remove that "maybe":

This American Thanksgiving, I want to give thanks that we don't need to hear Don Cherry's opinion about all of this on Saturday.

You're totally going to download his podcast.

This is worse than what we?ve heard of Babcock so far. Therrien might be the next shoe to land
