Black & Blue Leafs - Injury Report

Bernier says he felt good out there. Waiting to make sure he's fully ready. Says he had a minor setback on Friday but better now.

I think a return tomorrow night is a little premature, but Friday might be a closer target.

In other words, Bernier's out for the season.

Well, now I'm torn. I want a good draft pick, but I don't Reimer's last 5 games as a Leaf to be seen as costing the Leafs a playoff spot (even though of course it wouldn't actually be his fault).

Carlyle needs to go full on Randy-mode and starting Mac the rest of the way.

Well if the team can play like the first two periods of last night we will do fine. Lets give Reimer the defense he had last season and watch him get us into the playoffs.

A crappy Reimer is likely worth next to nothing in a trade.  He's gone 100% next year unless a new coach is brought in who says he likes both equally and wants a fresh start on the starter battle.  I'd sooner see him post 5 shutouts and be worth something at the deadline.  I think the odds of the Leafs moving very much in the standings are going to be fairly low regardless of what they do.  Unless they found a way to lose out and have the 7 teams that can theoretically catch them (within 6-7 points) pass them, I think they at most hover 1-3 spots from where they are at maximum.  I'm not sure if the 12th vs. 10th pick is enough to potential drop Reimer from a 2nd to 4rd round pick acquisition.

LK, that works too. But I was thinking more along the lines of having him stick it to the coach. I have a soft spot for Reimer. Though Bernier played well, I think Reimer got shafted a bit.

This is all too perfect! Now if we don't make the playoffs, I can pin this on Reimer. MUHAAAAAAAHHHAA

I hope for 1-0 losses with Reimer standing on his head every single game.

I want Kessel to hit 40 goals so maybe Randy starts Mac for just 1 game and Phil scores 4 goals there.

Hey, as long as he stands on his head, I don't mind if there's some 3-2 games in there.  I'm not inflexible. ;)

I will be cheering for Optimus until the final buzzer of this season.
Draft position be damned.  I love a good underdog story.  Hopefully he shows that he has what it takes to be a #1 (again) for whatever team he plays for next year.

Me too.  I can't help it, I just like the guy.

I do too. I admit I am questioning his mental fortitude a bit at not being or appearing to be able to handle the crap way he's been treated. Perhaps now knowing he's #1 will
bring him out of his funk.

I was pretty disappointed in his play while Bernier was out though. I just did not expect that from him.

Reimer shouldn't be dealt for just a 2nd in the summer, regardless of whether he asks for a trade or not.  He's worth more than that, especially if a team thinks he will be their starter.

Remember Philly got next to nothing for Bobrovsky, goalie prices can be underwhelming.

I rest my case.

As per Jonas Siegel:

Lupul will have knee surgery. Effectively done for the remainder of the regular season.

Three week recovery from surgery to meniscus for Lupul.
