I have absolutely no interest in grumbling about refs or pointing fingers at goaltending (whether it's Jack bad/Price good). It's game 7 and 90% of the team is playing like it's a random January regular season game, including our two biggest stars. Just embarrassing.

I don't get this comment.  I think the effort has been there from M&M.  They are just getting whipped by team defense and a great goalie.

I think they are trying...they are just trying the same thing over and over that isn?t working.  Elite players should be able to adapt
Good grief ? can we honestly stop apologizing for these fragile babies?  You either perform when it counts or you don?t.  They don?t, period.

Overpaid fragile babies to boot. Thank you.

Meh. A team that shouldn't have even made the playoffs shouldn't be able to do that to them. Not in this many games.

You know some Habs fan is going to be like "I wouldn't trade Kotkaniemi straight up for Matthews."

Guess I didn?t know what I was talking about but even with the injuries they should have put this series away. If they don?t make some major changes with this core I don?t know what to say. Fukn losers. Thank god I stopped watching early in the series.

But what exactly do you want them to do?  Which one do you want them to trade, and how?

Assuming they lose...the only core piece who should be considered would be Marner, but it would have to be a really good deal. I think maybe you give this group one more year, tweaking around the edges. Replace slow/unproductive players like Thornton and Simmonds with younger, quicker ones. Bring back Spezza, maybe Galchenyuk. Re-sign Hyman only if it is a deal that fits in, we can't mortgage the future to keep him. He's not going to age well and appears to already have lost a step. And hope like heck a couple of younger players (Robertson maybe) are ready to step in and play a regular role.

Thoughtful reply and I agree with so much of what you say but i?ll throw it out there....in trading a superstar (current anger aside) when has the team trading the superstar ever came out ahead? Can?t think of one but people here will likely come up with some examples

I would have told Marner to take a flying you know what when he demanded what he got. Love the kid as a player offensively but way overpaid and hasn't done jack s**t in the playoffs. Plus all season he has made some really boneheaded plays something you shouldn't be seeing from an 11 million dollar player. Get rid of him sure he's elite but all he cares about is himself. Throw the money at a couple solid forwards and players who bring it every night cuz that's what it takes to win a cup. These guys aren't warriors not the core only one I would throw in that category is JT.

It started with Dubas bending over for Nylander when he held out. Marner's agent knew he could make the same threat and he'd bend over Dubas as well.

Bang on said that from day 1 but some don't see that. They were arguably ready for good pay raises but not what was handed out.
Ultimately unless they are carrying you most nights playoffs included you might have an argument but regular season only doesn't cut it.

Pull the goalie at 10 minutes, maybe?

The way they are playing, the Habs would just score into the empty net within seconds. I say take it all the way to the last couple minutes.

Ya they are brain dead. Go on their forums written off, team is crap, fire Bergevin and now team is awesome. KK was benched and really hasn't done much in his career and for a 3rd overall pick probably a mistake. Then you listen to Dave Poulin when asked if KK is an overtime specialist after his goal the other night and he says well you have to give it some consideration. Idiot.

I said long ago if they can't win R1 then anything is possible.  Shanahan and Dubas may not be safe.

This team just absolutely wilts under pressure. It?s quite extraordinary.

Gotta change something, just not sure what. This feels like a psychological issue rather than a talent issue.

Amazing that just when the Leafs finally amass a quantity of young star players, the league shifts to a model of paying players early...and then we have a pandemic on top of it which flattens the cap. It really is like the universe is conspiring against this organization.

That said, Dubas definitely overpaid and that may in fact be what prevents this team from ever putting together a strong enough supporting cast. Sigh.

Montreal found a way to shut down the Leafs and the Leafs haven't figured out how to adapt.

And after that last shot, I agree that Matthews must be hurt.

not embarrassing for me. Shanny and Dubas are going nowhere. This is on the players
