That's pretty incredible what people can do if they work together. A vaccine rolling out for a virus that wasn't even know less than a year ago.

Yes and no.  The COVID-19 vaccines are piggybacking off a lot of research that was being done to generate a Coronavirus vaccine from SARS so it isn't like they worked entirely from scratch.  Not to try and take anything away from the significant accomplishment it will be get to a vaccine out this quickly.

I don't really think it's resurfaced much during this whole thing which is pretty surprising (to clarify, I knew his social media posts made it clear he's a covid denier, but didn't realize this wasn't the first time he's made the news during the pandemic):

Keep that flow coming. I read somewhere that they think the more conventional vaccines (adenovirus based) are easier to bring up to scale due to materials. We'll see what happens but it's good to know there are a lot of options out there.

I do hope they clearly spell out that getting vaccinated does not preclude you from still carrying and transmitting virus droplets. It just prevents an infection.
