Dion breaking up another rush with the stick. He's been very effective this way, this season.

I think Carlyle has them all using their sticks better.  I've been noticing Franson breaking up passes as well.  As one commentator was saying a while ago the whole 'two hands on the stick' thing with Wilson was awful.

Yeah, it was kind of defeating. I got why Wilson wanted to do it, but it just wasn't effective, in that it caused other problems.

Listening on the radio -- they said Gunnar got turned on that goal.  How's his skating look?  I'm wondering about whether he'll be hampered by his hip injury the rest of the way.

sorry I'm late... spousal unit is working tonight and I have to play KidTaxi.

Gunnarsson himself said that he likely wouldn't be 100% for the remainder of the season because of his hip. And he definitely got beat on that goal.

On the brightside, it might help a little bit when it comes time to negotiating his next contract this summer.

That raises the question of whether he should be playing over Gardiner.

I think Gunnar deserves a few more games to shake off any potential rust. Sitting Gunnarsson for Gardiner isn't as easy as it may sound though. The Leafs likely aren't going to go with 3 defencemen in the pressbox and 9 of them on the roster.
