I just caught the last period, punctuated by Aulie's horrible play on Perry's goal.  I really liked what I saw from Gardiner.  Good thing we've won 3 straight - next 2 games against our nemesis.

I really wish Phil would just light it up against them to get that monkey off his back.

He had two goals against them in one of the games last season.

Yeah, maybe I'm just too sensitive to it when I see them play Boston.  It seems like he always droughts whenever I happen to watch.  The Bruins just seem to own us, but I guess they've been owning just about everyone recently.

The Leafs were 4-2 against them last year.

Kessel goes a game without scoring any points and he has a monkey on his back?  Give the guy a break, he even got an assist this game.

I wasn't talking about Kessel's play this season, obviously he has been amazing.  Just saying that whenever I watch him play the B's he seems to play less than stellar.  I'm a huge Kessel fan.

Thread title reads "W 4-2"

I know recently we've been having trouble with ENGs, so let's count this one we actually got and make it 5-2 ;)

whoops, fixed

haha no bother, an understandable omission based on recent history!

i hate playing teams that are 0 for whatever the stat is...so nice to see the leafs not be the team that breaks their losing streak ...now ..i wonder if we've figured out how to play against boston yet...

Who would you guys say is the Leafs' biggest rival now?  It doesn't seem as clear cut as it used to be when it was Ottawa from all the playoff meetings and Montreal before then.

I saw the Sharks play the Canucks last night and that is turning into quite the rivalry.  Lots of bad blood, felt like a playoff game.

Are the anchors saying the Leafs are in 3rd in the conference? ... Pretty easy to look at nhl.com and see that they're in 2nd.

I thought I heard something like '3rd overall'.  :-\

That's what they were saying, because, that's what they are - behind the Pens and the Hawks.

Wow - amazing parity in the standings on both the East and West sides.  Very nice to see.

Yeah, I would probably agree on Boston.  It's probably all of the years not making playoffs that causes rivalries to fade.  So far so good this year though.

the standings are rediclous though, 2 points out of first overall 6 points from 23rd overall.  With the parody they really should take the extra point away from overtime losses to raise the competition

Gardiner second only to Beauchemin in overall toi for the game...

He was really a star in this one... I'm kind of shocked how he's kind of being ignored in the MotM votes.

Maybe he was too 'quiet'... ;)

Also the Leafs were only shorthanded twice, they're honing their game all around.
