Interesting that we're blaming Reimer for the loss when Fleury has a far worse save percentage. Maybe instead we should be thankinge him for the point.

Amen, brah.

Isn't this one the first (or if not, one of the few) winless streaks we've had all year? I feel like the anger against losses is so high this year because it protects people's expectations should they go on a massive skid out of the playoffs. I don't know why, but it really feels pointed this year.

We went on a couple of the two-game 'skids' in the first 10 games but since then we haven't dropped any consecutive games until now, where we did get a point in the 2nd one

Need to get a regulation win against the Jets.

I thought the reffing in the last half of the third was terrible too. Did anyone see the slew foot Crosby pulled on Reimer? I never thought he was a dirty player but my thoughts have changed.

Nevermind the couple of hits on Grabbo that could've been called too.

Didn't see the game.  Bad goals from Reimer?

One awful one when the entire team was dormant offensively.

Two awful ones by my count, and how does the team's offensive status at the time have anything to do with Reimer stopping shots he should (and ordinarily would) have?

Alright, but again, grant that goal. The onus would still be on the Leafs to score the third goal, which statistically happens less than half the time.

And even then, its not like you can guarantee a shootout goal. Kadri is probably the closest thing we have to that and he didn't get much of a chance at all.

This is the second time somebody has bashed Kadri for that shootout move and I don't get it. I though it was a nice deke but Fleury (who has very good shootout stats) stayed with him the whole way.

As for Bozak, I definitely don't blame him for losing the shootout. Like you said, it wasn't all on him. I'm just surprised his name was called, that's all. I like to send out whoever had a good game, and thought that JVR, MacArthur, and Grabovski all outperformed him that night. Kessel and Kadri too but they were on deck of course.

I don't recall to be honest. Either way, this doesn't strike me as the sort of game to be upset with.

I didn't at all bash Kadri's attempt. It wasn't a bad deke but I would imagine he'd want a mulligan on that one, it looked to me like he ran out of space, and like the commentators said could've been skipping a bit. I think it was clear Bozak had the better chance.

hat could turn out to be a huge point to come back and get. Dion was a #1 dman tonight.. Thinking it is time for maybe Komisarek to get back in for either Holzer or Kostka for a look see

That's what I thought too. Komi really wasn't all that bad before this benching. It seemed to me it was mostly caused by that incident in practice and then because the other guys were playing alright he just couldn't get back in. Well, it's time now. Holzer needs to go back to the Marlies. I'd even suggest sitting Kostka and playing Komi with Liles but with the way Caryle played him in that game it probably won't happen.

Because all you can do in any game is to expect your goaltender to do his part. He didn't in the first half but neither did the team as a whole. They sort of both let each other down. At the same time, both the team and Reimer were better in the second half. Point being, Reimer was no worse than the guys playing in front of him.

I thought 2 3 and 4 were bad from a goaltender standpoint
It was just the rebounds though.  I thought he played solid aside from that.  It's a shame he didn't do better in the shootout.

You can't blame Reimer for the loss.  The Penguins were all over them and the Leafs were having a hard time containing players like Malkin.

Isn't Malkin have a concussion?

You sure you don't have one?  ;D

He did, but has been back for a couple games at least, scored a highlight-reel goal against Tampa.

Doesn't mean he is recovered.  Crosby's one last over a year.  Do you have one?

He may have another one after the JVR hit last night, he didn't take another shift after that hit I think.

When will a tie just be a tie again?

If there is one thing I dread doing is blaming the goaltender for losing in a shootout.  Did the Pens really deserve the extra point?  Both teams looked even offensively and the Leafs deserved the tie sans shootout.  Too bad it isn't done that way.

Complaints aside, Reimer needs a little more work on some aspects of his game.  Other than that, he still by far and wide, kept his team in the game.

I like the way the Leafs stood up against one of the top powerhouses in the league.  Good job!

Now, we need to get back to winning.

GO LEAFS GO!!

officiating last night wasn't at its sharpest either with a few missed calls but the one in overtime where Grabs is tripped up right in front of the ref should of been automatic.

Good to get a point out of that game, they were losing too many without getting a point.  Leafs had some serious energy in the 3rd and OT, and maybe deserved a better fate, but was exciting nonetheless.

That was a hell of an OT.  I we could have seen more than just 5 minutes of that, no matter how it turned out in the end.  Shootouts are silly.

The Leafs, again, had a lot of trouble getting out of their own zone, but they seemed to figure it out by the 3rd.  Kessel especially looked fired up, which I haven't seen very often this season.  Really glad for that point.  I'm interested to see how Thursday's game turns out.
