Game 3: Leafs at Penguins - TSN 7:00 PM

Great news having Gardiner back. We sure could use some offense from the blue line in the form of moving the puck.

Of the D on the bubble, Holzer was the only one waiver exempt (thx to Busta PM that confirmed - and contradicted Star article yesterday)

I'd also say that Fraser adds some toughness as an option for Carlyle

So, we were right then? Good.

Good decision re Gardiner -- no reason at all to rush him back.  ;) 8) 8) :o

What is considered rushing him?

I remember all the worrying people did that we were rushing Kessel back in 09-10, I don't think he's missed a game since.

I watched some of the Pens-Flyers and Pens-Rangers games. The Pens looked really good to me and are part of the reason those two clubs are off to winless starts.

They were exceptional in special teams last year and they look to continue that this season - even though Staal has moved on. Might be wise for the Leafs to avoid penalties.

Compared to the first two games, this game shapes up to be the most severe test for our Leafs to date. They've got to steal a few of these if they hope to play in the spring.

Gardiner back in, Reimer back, this could be a good night, 3-0, Kadri, Kessel and Komarov with goals, lupul with 2 helpers

It's going to be a tough game but I want the same thing - not to get
blown out until Luongo has been traded to someone else.

jonasTSN1050: Leafs D tonight: Phaneuf-Kostka. Gardiner-Liles. Gunnarsson-Komisarek.

jonasTSN1050: Lines vs. PIT: Lupul-Bozak-Kessel. van Riemsdyk-Grabovski-Kulemin. MacArthur-Kadri-Komarov. Brown-McClement-Orr.

Lupul was back at 1st line before the puck drops...

I thought he did switch hands towards the end there. Tough tilt that, fair play to them!
