Game 33: Kings at Leafs - Dec 19th 7pm SNETO (OTL3-2)

I hope Phaneuf proves me wrong with some really heroic play in the 3rd, but right now I'm going to emote and say he's been pretty freaking useless recently.

Although the shots total (16-4 in favour of the Kings) would lend credence to my original statement.

Not really. It would say that the Leafs got outplayed but a disaster, to me, would have to be something where the Leafs actually let in a bunch of a goals.

Kypreos says the goal was onside, not offside. What was he looking at the same replay we all saw. That's not where it was out if it was Nick.

They just showed it again and Kypreos admitted he made a mistake. Puck was clearly out, I saw it sitting at home so what is the linesman doing?

He still plays 24:00+ in all situations, so even if he's not doing something flashy, he's still doing things out there.

I'm emotionally involved.

Phaneuf how hard can it be to hit the net?

But he shoots it really hard.  Wasn't he more effective with his shot when he didn't try and shoot it through the boards?

Reminds me of my volleyball years (<cough> two-time MVP <cough> :) ): if there was a blocker at the net, you nailed that f'n ball as hard as you could. if the ball didn't get through, at least you'd have a chance of breaking his nose. If there was no blocker, you'd better take some off and get that ball in or get a pretty intense stare down from the coach.

I'd love to see the replay. Unfortunately I have the LA feed. Blah.

Can't wait to see what Doughty says about the play in the interview coming up. Holding back the smile he'll say it was in.

A lucky bounce and a sleeping linesman...

Well, not really, because the linesman made two very emphatic motions about it being on-side.  So he wasn't sleeping, hallucinating perhaps, but not sleeping.

Yeah, he's definitely taken a step backwards.

I'm not talking about flashy -- he's not winning puck battles, he's struggling to get the puck out of the zone, etc.

If he's not playing very well, I don't think an abundance of ice time is a positive.

Honest to God - when that ..... winds up just head to the far wall because that's where the puck is going. Previously posted was the amount of times the Leafs self-clear the puck - and I'm not referring to just PP's.
