Wasn't today the Schultz and Toronto day ?

Any udate on that ?

Nos without Schenn the Leafs have a top 4 spot open...

I think he arrives in Toronto today to meet with his agents. Tomorrow, they start to review offers, etc. I think he has to wait until July 1 to officially sign with a team other than the Ducks..

Anyone know how this will play out? Does each team send a rep to discuss their proposal? I suppose the Leafs would be the only suitors that could show Schutlz around their facilities and give him the red carpet treatment.

At least in this case no team can out bid the other team.

I expect that first thing tomorrow, Jake Gardiner is at Justin's hotel with a basket of muffins and the hippo bus chartered for the day.

He'll take him out tonight and show him where the ladies hang out so they have dates for tomorrow. #Gardinersexpresstour

Schultz will also have to watch out for falling concrete and escaped dogs. #Gardinerexpresstour

I hope he didn't read that dire warning that Dave Feschuk wrote to Rielly about how horrific life is here in Toronto.  ::)

Anyone know why Schultz is different from Billy Sweatt of the summer of 2010 who didn't become a free agent until August 15th of that year?

Sweatt didn't leave school until after he graduated.

TSNBobMcKenzie: Some NHL teams believe Schultz is destined to end up with his home province Canucks. We should know more in next few days if not sooner.

The opinions seems to be split pretty evenly between Vancouver and Toronto.

Playing at home on a successful team or playing with his buddy in Toronto.

One thing I would think he'll be considering, if he doesn't make the pro team of either club.

If he is in Vancouver that means he's moving to Chicago, in Toronto, that means he's going to work at a different spot in the city, gets to keep the same place and friends.

26 NHL teams have expressed interest in UFA dman Justin Schultz, a shortlist of 5, give or take a team or two, likely by this afternoon.

No teams invited yet to meet/present/offer Schultz but EDM for sure and quite likely VAN have management people in TOR waiting for chance.

Schultz can't formally sign contract until
Sunday July 1 but I'd be surprised if he hasn't picked his new team before then.

That brief window in time where the Islanders actually think they have a shot.

;D

I hope The Canucks don't get him. I'm really starting to dislike Gillis, and this would put me over the edge. >:(
