Domi doing stupid nonsense...spend more time playing hockey.  You couldn't be bothered to do anything when the game mattered

There?s a reason Dubas had no interest in Beetuzzi and Domi.

It's early and I hope he can get going but I've never liked Domi as a player.

Team in my opinion has regressed also. Record is flattering. You watch the Habs team I detest and effort is there most nights with less talent than the Leafs. Just goes to show you that if you?re not putting in the effort every shift or night games are lost. Keefe needs to go too many nights the effort sucks, never start on time etc. If he?s not the problem then how long does management need to figure out it?s time for a change. I would sign Nylander and hope he doesn?t disappear, trade Marner and change the core. Get some d help and when Tavares is done get some more help with the 11 million that come off the books.

Nice! Nylander now with the longest point streak to start a season in Leafs history.
Must have changed it... originally 44 got an apple.

Willy must have gotten a piece of that Rielly shot, hence the change. A pretty generous secondary assist but hey a record's a record.

Fast chip and chase? The perfect style for slush ice?

Treliving just needs to sign Toews and he'll complete the trifecta of signing to the Leafs the three players I have despised and loathed the most in the league.

We're revering Dubas' decision making now?

Bad game for sure...their points % has them at .611 which is 13th in the league.

9 games in, I don't figure they hit panic button unless it looks this bad around games 15-20.

But Keefe is running out of runway here.

Problem is it's not just 9 games into this season, this  is game 3 against Florida last year and several other games this team has come out flat, it's a habit and it should be very concerning, how do we fix it? Not sure but something needs to change, still.

I've watched the replay a couple of times and I still don't see where Nylander touched the puck, a phantom assist

Our bottom six so absolutely useless.

Reaves does absolutely nothing and the 4th gets caved in way too much.

Kampf is overpaid, isn't winning faceoffs and has no offensive ability.

Bertuzzi doesn't fit in either line in the top 6 so far.  Domi has been more bad than good.  Knies looks like an NHL player but does look like a rookie.

Marner needs to get it going.

The defense is a bit of a mess too but at least they have some injuries as a bit of an excuse but Klingberg is showing some pretty concerning warts already for 4M

A lot of Trelivings moves aren't looking all that great 9 games into the season.  Plenty of time to turn things around but the team is winning because of Matthews/Nylander playing like stars.

I am, yes.

I?m trying not to be too cynical this early in the season, but the fiasco of Dubas?s departure last spring and how that was handled left more then just a bad taste in my mouth.

As I suspected at the time, the on-ice product would suffer because of it. What?s surprising me is just how soon into this season we?re seeing it.

They're saying the Rielly point shot right after the whistle was deflected wide by Nylander. The puck bounced off the end boards and went to Marner at the point and that's when he passed to Tavares to score. Like I said a very generous secondary assist to hand out for sure but Nylander presumably did get a piece of the initial Rielly point shot.

Dubas was rumoured to be interested in Bertuzzi several times in the past. He never had interest in Domi that I ever heard. Domi is not a "Dubas" type player.

Nice work by the official Leaf arena scorer who checks these things, Michael Nylander.

Not that I?m in the know or anything or can back this up, but personally I?ve never heard or read that anywhere.

Friedman and Marek from March talking about Dubas' interest in Bertuzzi:

I can't find the Domi thing but I do recall hearing/reading somewhere after Domi signed here that he wanted to come here in the 2022 offseason as well but the Leafs weren't as interested.

For whatever it's worth I think these guys can still rebound, but probably a good thing they didn't come with term just in case.
