I like the idea of Corrado analyzing the games like this. But I also think he's pulling things out of thin air. He's making errors up to push his point.
Sure. I'm not disagreeing that Kampf made an error(mind you, one he recovered on), but it's an error by Liljegren as well. And the whole thing could have been avoided if Liljegren didn't lunge at a puck that he could not get to.
#1. I don't want my D going outside the dots unless they know they're getting the puck first. Liljegren did not have that opportunity. He put himself out of position.
#2. Kampf does end up on the right side of Dubois and it's actually Liljegren's guy that gets the scoring chance
#3. If you look at Brodie on the lower half of the screen, he also is not within striking distance of the winger. I'm not sure in what hockey plan you'd ever want your D right up on that winger in the neutral zone. Sure, it's their player to cover, but they can't stick to them.
