Leafs 2015/2016 Schedule in 10 game chunks

looks like only 4 of the next 10 are winnable. Lets see how they do. If Riems keeps standing on his head then anything can happen.

I am not sure why you think only 4 are winnable. They have played the good team better then the bad team.

I'm not even sure 4 are winnable.

I was just chastised by Patrick for selling optimism, so this is my penance.  I hope everyone has a great weekend in this crazy world.  Inside I hope the Leafs win em all!

No you weren't.

I'm as much of a hopeless romantic/optimist as most, I'm just a little more realistic and consider all angles before preaching about the team.

I like your tankimism.

Reimer leaves practice:

Feel bad for Reimer.  If he can't play on Saturday against the Caps, it could be Bernier's turn to shine.  Or maybe a Garrett Sparks could get the backup duties.

Hope Reimer returns.  The Leafs need him.

Reimer's said it's just some aches and pains.  I think LouLam has the players on lockdown about talking about injuries, so I would think if it was anything worse than that he either wouldn't be talking about it or it would have been 'lower' or 'upper' body injury.

13 of 23 games with 2 goals or less. Least wins and ROW in the league. 5-on-5 possession down to 49.2 score-adjusted, at 48.3.

What's the possession number down from?

what were we at with Carlyle? 44 or something like that to be over 50% is a huge improvement. I really like what we are seeing in our defensive zone.

Actually, like Busta said they are below 50% and trending down. I think Babcock has done a good job with these guys, but they're still (mostly) bottom of the barrel in terms of talent.

At the end of October, it was 53.7% 5-on-5, 51.3 5-on-5 score adjusted.

Thanks. Not sure what to make of that particularly, other than maybe an unsustainable effort level making up for a lack of talent ( falling back to Earth ). Still, they look way more organized most of the time compared to last year, and they don't seem to give up as easily, so far at least.

Also should mention they're 2-9-5 against the East so far this season, with the wins coming against a Columbus team that was awful to start the season, and a shootout win against Carolina.

They're not over 50%. Overall, they're just below, bust since the beginning of November, they're 46.1 5-on-5, and 46.2 score adjusted 5-on-5. So, really, a marginal improvement on what they were under Carlyle - though, to be fair, the current roster isn't as talented as the one Carlyle had.

In a season that will be short on accomplishments, I had to denote Sparks's history making start last night.
