I honestly don't understand this line of thinking. Is Nick Spaling not a number 1 centre because he doesn't want it enough?
Bernier's struggles might partly be on the mental side of his game, but it isn't because he's perfectly content being a mediocre goalie.

Was Spaling hauled as the second coming of Sundin or something? No. He's just another centre.
Bernier, on the other hand, was pegged as being the go- to guy, whereas no one expected James Reimer to be this good.
If Bernier has issues, then one would expect him to work them out. There aren't too many excuses available for a prolonged time. Let's give him some time and cut him some slack and wait and see. He might just regain his groove. I doubt it.
