Wouldn't have counted any way. That was a pretty clear kick. Oh, Clarkson.

Maybe TFC can take him?

You would think he would have demanded that at multiple points this season, but, well, here we are. Those demands still need a receptive ear that's capable of adaptation.

With the way they've played this year, yes. They've been getting elite goaltending but they're still near the bottom on the league in goals allowed. That's not a team that's going anywhere with a significant change in strategy. They're on pace to be one of the worst teams in the history of the league in terms of shots allowed. Fixing that also requires a substantial change in strategy. They are, however, having enough success to keep those in charge of the on ice strategy employed for at least one more season, so, those changes that they need to happen in order to take the next step aren't going to happen.
Zanzibar Buck-Buck McFate said:I almost added that myself, but then I thought maybe Nonis is reluctant to scrap the whole D system and replace it midseason.

Y u no score!?!?

One shift in the 2nd. Probably because he didn't score in the 3 shifts he had during the 1st.
RedLeaf said:Listen. I get all that, I really do, but I see it differently. I see a young, rebuilding team with many pieces in place, but with more work to do.
With that being said, they have done well this season overall. They should make the playoffs for the 2nd straight year, and have many young players that look to be key guys going forward.
I think they are on schedule, and maybe even a little ahead of where most of us thought they'd be after this team was essentially ripped apart by Cliff Fletcher not all that long ago.

Those were dark times.

I'm not saying that there aren't good pieces in place or anything like that. I'm just saying there's one giant roadblock in the way of their progression as a team, and, right now, that roadblock is driving the bus.

So Carlyle finally gets it with McClement, but not with Ashton?

I don't really think Ashton should get tons of minutes, but just keep him in the lineup as a better option than the knuckle-draggers and if he doesn't score in crap minutes he doesn't score, but he'll still be a better option in those crap minutes than crap.
