Leafs recall Josh Leivo; JVR out 6-8 weeks with fracture in left foot

Both Capfriendly and General Fanager report the m-NTC on JvR's contract.

But even GF makes note that it could be voided because of the trade. And NTC/NMC's have always been the one thing that these sites have been somewhat unreliable with. They can often only put up what's been reported in the media, and the media reported that the original deal had the clause in it. Nobody has reported that it's been voided because it's not really the type of thing to come up.

I have never understood why the league is so secretive about things like bonus structure, salary breakdowns and things like NMC/NTC conditions.  The involved agents will know and when it comes time to negotiating other deals with players, other agents will find out from their colleagues.  Why make this stuff so shrouded?

Excellent opportunity for Leivo, hope he makes the best of it.  It has been reported that JVR's green mouthgard is heading to Cabo for some sun and fun after all that stress.

3) The Marlies will now be without arguably their 4 best forwards from like a month ago (Nylander, Leivo, Panik, Arcobello) + Brown is still out. Big test for them.

Arcobello, Sparks and Bibeau were all sent down today. So, problem solved!

Adding Morin didn't hurt either with his 3 points in 2 games.

As sort of cartoonishly Orwellian as it sounds, I don't think it has anything to do with wanting to keep info from Agents/players. I think it's to keep it away from media/fans. I think they know that contract details/cap situations can form the basis of a lot of fan criticism and, as such, they're reluctant to put that out there.

Nylander-Stamkos-Nylander

Kapanen-Stamkos-Marner
Timashov-Nylander-Nylander

I'm not going to lie, that got me a little excited.

It may be a little more realistic than I intended. ;D

I'd imagine that Drouin would be playing with Stamkos, what with their history and all. Kapanen would probably slot down to the 3rd line with Kadri and Ovechkin.

That can't be right. Kadri's going to Nashville for Weber.

More realistic on these comments than all the people around here dreaming of becoming a Billionare tomorrow night (including me).  I am already to book Rod Stewart to play our 25th anniversay in May.  8)

I guess all you guys are asleep at the wheel, missing the big news in today's Aftonbladet that Michael is un-retiring. Your second line reads like this:

Nylander--Nylander--Nylander

Would it kill Babs to actually play Leivo instead of playing him 5 minutes one game then benching him the next?

Grabner sucks offensively, Matthias and others, Babs appears to have already written him off, why?

Probably because he was sent to the Marlies over a week ago.

So why not play him, we know he's with the Marlies now. I think he probably has more of a future with the Leafs than Grabner, Matthias, etc. so why not give him enough icetime to show his stuff. I remember RC, when TO traded for Holland, putting Holland on the 1st line, giving him loads of icetime eventually Holland ended up benched or playing very little but at least RC gave him a chance.

I wouldn't park the car I'm trying to sell in the garage.

TO is constantly parking Boyes but they bring up Leivo park him and play Boyes.

Is it not possible to upgrade your nonparked players by playing them with upgrades, I'm hoping Leivo might be an upgrade to many of the sad sack players we have now, I think the evidence is already there for Matthias, PAP, Polak so whether or not Leivo takes their place for 2, 3, or 4 games probably isn't going to amount to a hill of beans.
