I know we?ve shifted a little more toward sharing it between 2 goalies on a lot of teams but I?m amazed that we haven?t moved more towards something like baseball pitching rotation with goalies where you have 3 NHL level goalies getting a more even share of the starts.

A lot of NHL teams wouldn't feel too good if their starting goalie is outside the top 20. To expect 90, that is wishful thinking at this point. And then you have to give up a roster spot for the 3rd goalie?

To help answer this one as well:

The biggest question re: Stolarz is how he'll hold up to what will almost certainly be a career high in starts by a fairly wide margin (at least, at the NHL level). His current high is 24 - this past season - and it's a pretty significant jump from that total to the 35-40 he'll be expected to handle this year.

Stolarzz is 30 years old. He's been travelling and practicing a full NHL schedule for a while now. Not quite the same as playing but it has to help.

As I recall in 2021-23, Murray's save% was around .904, 3.0x GAA.
Martin Jones in 2023-24 was .902, 2.87GAA.
A lot of the goalies who had the hip procedure Murray did come back as a goalie significantly improved. He played a few games in the AHL rehabbing so the Leafs medical folks have the full story. There's a good chance Murray can fill in for Woll or Stolarz if they go down, better than at any time he was with the Leafs previously. We probably have a better #3 than we've ever had.

Hildeby's previous high was 27 games in junior in Europe. Last year he played 44 incl playoffs. He tapered off. I do not think he was used to it. This year, I expected him to improve on that. He played very well in the first half last year. So we probably have a better #4 than we've ever had.

And then our #5 is coming off a great MVP & Championship winning year in the VHL

Goaltending might be the deepest it has ever been in Leafs history.
I'm not going to lose too much sleep over it.
