Leafs sign Jooris, Cracknell, Marincin, Subban

Cracknell's a 32-year old winger with 200+ games of NHL experience. Played more of a grinder role in the NHL but had 48 points in 52 games in the AHL last season.

I wonder if a top-tier NHL defenseman has ever made a concerted effort to go somewhere to play with his brother.

Are you think Carolina signs Freddie Hamilton?

I can remember one pretty big name that did.

When I saw Subban I thought they signed Malcolm.  There's another brother?

Yeah he's the worst one. Drafted by Canucks, hasn't played an NHL game yet. Marlies reclamation project

OK, thanks Z.

Jordan Subban has projectable skills, and putting him through the Marlies program can turn a cheap pickup into a useful asset.

I'd be happy if he could turn into a player. Didn't cost anything, low risk, high reward. Longshot at best but I wish him well, hopefully the Subban genes kick in a bit later for this kid and the Leafs benefit

It's good for him, he can learn and improve by playing with the Marlies.  It never hurts to heighten one's game and it's more than a welcome opportunity for Subban to do so.  Time will tell how and if he progresses.

Nice article in the Athletic about Jordan Subban.  His family is ecstatic that he's coming home with a shot to play.  Hope it works out for him.
