Marlies Talk

Pretty solid defense though for an AHL team. No free links.... anyone???

Definitely. And that's with Gysbers scratched and Mottau injured. I'm fairly certain Marlies streams have pretty much been nonexistent since the lockout ended. I wouldn't get my hopes up for any.

Yeah. Not having any luck.

EDIT: I wouldn't have an issue paying for it, but the AHL doesnt even have a mobile app (that can be watched on an ipad or sent to a TV.)

Thats the part I dont get. Anyways....

Rielly just scored to tie the game at 3.  He also assisted on the 2nd goal.

I'll start working on the concrete base.

EDIT:

@kylethereporter says the AHL box score has removed the assist, so possibly just a goal for Rielly.

Nice to see him get on the scoresheet his first game.  I wasn't able to watch the game last night but Reilly was 2nd star, not too bad of an inauguration.

It's probably for the best. Their prices are pretty ridiculous. I thought about buying it for the playoffs last season and couldn't believe what it cost. And from what I've read, the quality is pretty bad and the streams are pretty unreliable. Apparently the game last night wasn't even available.

Yeah. I had a live chat with them last season to see if I could at least view the games on my ipad and they said they were working on it. That was a year ago. Pretty Mickey Mouse operation. Too bad, because their product is pretty good, and they could have really cashed in with the lock out, but weren't ready for it I guess.

His retirement celebration night should really be the week right after Kadri's.  I would think that Kadri's 1800 points would be a touch more of an accomplishment than Rielly's 1200 points.  It'll be a great way to kick off the 2033 season.

Make sure it's big enough to hold Kadri and Gardiner, as well. Also, it needs to have room for additions. We're gonna need a lot of statues when this is all said and done.

No trades? No problem. Marlies play live on Leafs TV in 15 minutes. It will be my first glimpse at Reilly. Is Percy playing for them today? Should be fun.

Maybe it's a common AHL thing but a game at 11 in the morning on a Wednesday?

School-day game where they have thousands of kids watching the game.  I believe they started this a while ago, I remember a previous season where they did this.

It's not common. It believe its fan appreciation day. Someone can correct me , but I believe the game is free and some schools bring their kids in for it, hence the timing.

James Mirtle says that Stuart Percy and David Broll joined the Marlies.

Great! Develop, develop, develop... Broll had a better year than I thought he would, maybe there is something there.

I really don't think there is.  He needed to be played with great offensive players to put up points as a 19-20 year old (and even then not great numbers), and when he was split up from them he looked invisible - not good for a guy bigger than most on the ice.  He's not particularly fast, doesn't have particularly good offensive instincts, and didn't even seem to hit as much.

I was disappointed watching him for the Soo.

Gotcha. Cheers.

I'll certainly defer to your knowledge of him, I haven't seen him play ever. If he can play a 4th line role and finish better than Colton Orr, maybe he'll help the Marlies this playoff.
