If there are 60 thousand Canadiens as Cherry said the Leafs would be playing in front of home crowd

Go to Windsor and its probably 50/50 Detroit vs. Toronto fans.  There are a lot of Red Wings fans in Southwestern Ontario.

Pending call. Gleason to Toronto for Liles and Robertson (d-man).

That was great watching the 2nd Alumni game.  What a joy to watch some of my favourites from the 90's and early 2000's.  Tucker, Corson, Roberts, Cujo, Gilmour, Clark, Potvin, Domi...etc.  Too bad Sundin wasn't there.

And it reminded me why I liked watching hockey back in those days...it's because I liked the players.  They were not only good but also had great personalities.  Or were likeable in some manner.  Watching Palmateer and guys like Lanny also showed me that earlier Leafs eras (that I didn't get a chance to watch) were also full of characters.

Today's Leafs are so difficult to like.  I can't think of a single Leaf that I like or think is a good guy.  Maybe Lupul or Bernier.

And to me that's the scariest notion, not that the Leafs suck, but that the Leafs have become boring and dull and unlikeable.  sheesh

Of course that could be a function of your own age.

LOL no.  I considered that, but it's pretty obvious (even for a contrarian like you) that the Leafs aren't even interesting enough for other teams/fans to hate.  How sad is that?

I mean could this awesome game have happened to a more pitiful collection of Leafs players?

I've spent my holidays around a family that includes a bunch of younger Leafs fans and they seem to like the current players just fine.

I don't like the current Leafs the way I liked the Leafs team from my childhood but I don't think it's unusual to stop trying to make pro athletes into heroes as you age.

I think it's time to stop the dinky passing and put the puck on the net.

Ditto. Its tough to even receive a pass, let alone make a good one. Just fire it on net and try to crack a rebound in. No point trying to do anything fancy.

If they like this current team, man their minds would be blown by the those 90's/00's teams.
