Why is there no quarantining period when they arrive in Canada?
I think they are going to be in a designated area on the Exhibiton grounds.

Seems to me that bringing together large groups of people from different parts of North America with no Quarantine could lead to disaster.  :-\

Any guesses as to how many players opt out of the RTP?  Beyond Domi who might not even be allowed to play.

And if any, who do you think it might be?  Price was vocal with his concerns.  I'm sure others too have many concerns despite not publicizing them.  Would older players opt out?  Possibly upcoming free agents?

I wouldn?t be surprised to see some older pending UFAs on bubble teams opt out, and a number of guys who are not likely to get much, if any, ice time, too.

I can only see UFAs who don't intend to play in the NHL next season (like Polak) opting out. I think the pressure to play will be too high even for the more depth players.

I could see some AHL type guys who might get called up to fill the pracice numbers not wanting to go through the whole ordeal, but I would imagine those concerns would be brought up before they were officially selected so we won't really hear of them "opting out" necessarily.

An Edmonton hospital just closed to (additional) public due to a full-facility COVID outbreak.

This is now no longer a proposal and it, along with the CBA has been ratified.

This can still very easily come way off the rails. I hope all the players, staff, arena support staff, and hospitality service staff make it through this process safe.

Hopefully the opt out guys get treated fairly.  I?m modestly concerned that organizations will want to use it against them in negotiations and I?m sure a good chunk of internet idiots will have knives out.

one thing to keep in mind is the ice will absolutely suck by the 3rd game in the same night. Forty 215lb NHLers cutting into that ice will make huge ruts that wont be able to "heal" by the time the next group goes on..
We see it on the local rinks here after we follow one of the junior teams. Our plant is definitely not as good as the ACC, but it's also -20 outside here and the rink still doesn't recover.

+30 and 3 NHL games will mean crap ice.

Well there's one.

Well, colour me surprised. If I was a betting man, I'd say that a) his contract status is a big factor and b) there wasn't interest to re-sign with Calgary.

edit: this:

That's a good point. I don't think the ACC was known for particularly good ice even in the best of conditions. I guess the only positive is that they don't have to keep covering it and uncovering it for off-day events, and I'm sure they'll spare no expense to add tech if it'll help.

I don't think I saw it anywhere, but are the games just taking place at the ACC?  Or can they mix in Coca-Cola Coliseum to try and salvage the effects on the ice?

Only SBA and Rogers Place were named as arenas for game play. All other ice pads in the bubble are for team training camps/practices
