Nik said:I don't think the issue is easier or harder, I think the issue is that whoever wins this little tournament will be doing so in conditions that will be drastically different than the games that took place during the regular season.
The idea of an asterisk is, obviously, shorthand for a larger question of what a cup won under these circumstances would mean. If someone out there would be really excited by the Leafs winning, if the claims of it being tainted wouldn't both them, then I guess that's their prerogative. Likewise, if you think that most of what makes your favourite team winning a championship would be absent and, as a result, it wouldn't do much for you that's equally valid.

Interesting that they're trying to cram in return to play measures, a CBA extension, and Olympics participation all in one big bundle.

I?d rather they win the cup in a normal season, but i will get plenty of entertainment out of watching them play this year if it happens. I certainly prefer it to no hockey at all (with the caveat that I don?t want my indulgences to cause others to do something risky ? I?m assuming the risk can be minimized).

Peter D. said:Any guesses as to how many players opt out of the RTP? Beyond Domi who might not even be allowed to play.
And if any, who do you think it might be? Price was vocal with his concerns. I'm sure others too have many concerns despite not publicizing them. Would older players opt out? Possibly upcoming free agents?
