I, for one, care deeply whether Byron Foerse is on the team.  Wanna see him retire as a Leaf.

I usually check google to make sure I've spelled someone's name right. I just guessed right with Froese.

I'm actually gravitating toward a dictatorial stance on the spelling of people's names: spell it phonetically, or else the Naym Zar will do it for you.  Yeah, I'm looking at YOU too, #44.

Would have missed out on some solid Miro Satan lines.

Top 15 pick for JVR
Perhaps a 1st rounder for Bozak
at least a 2nd for Polak
Bernier 2nd or 3rd (don't want to see Riemer go)
Grabner might fetch a 2nd
Don't think you are going to fetch more than a 4th for Boyes,  Spaling, Matthias , Parenteau , Arcobello 5th.
Froese perhaps 7th and his number starts with a five and ends with a six (am I right?)

I wonder what cbus would be looking to get for K rychel?  I think someone like JVR is too much but anything else seems not enough.  maybe a d-man?

er...My spin...this early....

Let me throw this out there anyway.

NHL Tradebait (by my categorization)

Obvious Bait/All your picks are belong to us:
Boyes (3rd) (NTC??), Spaling (3rd)4th Nsh 2017, Polak (3rd/4th) Want to re-sign, Matthias (4th) 3rd Det 2017 (Leafs pick for Babcock), Parenteau (2nd) Chi 2017, Reimer (1st/2nd) Want to re-sign, Grabner (3rd)maybe low 2nd Wsh 2016, Arcobello (3rd/4th)4th/5th LAK 2016

Really, really want to trade them, but probably cannot at this deadline:
Phaneuf,  Robidas, Horton, Lupul (Willing to retain salary to move him),  Bernier,  Winnik, Froese, Marincin, Corrado

Probably would not trade at this deadline unless there is a compelling offer:
JvR*, Kadri*, Gardiner*, Winnik, Holland, Komarov, Bozak, Hunwick, Froese, Marincin, Corrado, Phaneuf, Polak, Reimer

Knock my socks off completely: Rielly

* Primo bait

Leafs possibly have 10 draft picks this year if the Pens make the playoffs but the St Louis 6th pick's conditions weren't met because Jokinen didn't play in the Cup Finals.
http://www.generalfanager.com/teams/toronto-maple-leafs

That would add 2 more picks in 2016 and 3 for 2017.  12 picks in 2016 combined with the 9 picks in 2015 would give 21 picks in 2 years instead of the typical 3.

If they Leafs win a couple of those games in hand, they could shoot up the standings into the teens.  There's a real logjam at the bottom of the standings there, and up near the top:

EDIT:  There really are logjams all over the middle of this thing.

I'm not really sure that Rychel is going to fetch what some think he might. He's a 21-year old with just 16 NHL games under his belt, and I get that Columbus has some decent forward depth but if he was NHL-ready they'd have him up there. He's not a bust or anything but his value has definitely dropped since he's been drafted.

I'd offer up Stuart Percy, a similar prospect who's stumbled a bit post-draft. Maybe toss-in a mid-pick since Percy's 1.5 years older. Or I could actually see them having some legit interest in Roman Polak. Both their President and their GM came from the Blues organization, so they'll know Polak well. And Torts would love him for sure.

Rychel reportedly asked for a trade this summer, so they may be a little more inclined to move him, as well.

I agree that his value has dropped since the draft. His AHL numbers are rather underwhelming. They're not bad. They're just very . . . ordinary - especially his goal totals. He's still young, so obviously there's room to improve and those numbers don't mean a ton, but they're still discouraging. If he can be had for prospect like Percy, I'd do it, but I'd rather get draft picks for guys like Polak, etc., and let Hunter do his thing.

I would think Polak would have more value since he'a an every day player, but I'm sure another team would make a better offer. Even so, I would love to see what Babcock could do in terms of his development.

If they could wrangle him for Percy and a little plus, I'd be interested for sure. I don't know about Polak, like others have said he might be worth more in picks.

Well, realistically, Polak returns a 2nd rounder and a late round pick. Rychel's value is probably still pretty close to a 2nd rounder, so, if Columbus were to add a 4th or something . . . not that I think they'd be super interested in adding a rental, though.

Shocking how often Edmonton won and I never had the Leafs win it once.  I was hoping to see a top 3 pick every time but it only happened once for me.

Did it 4 times. Edmonton picked 1st twice, 3rd twice.

I should make the lottery selections this year.

1st attempt: Columbus - Toronto - Edmonton
2nd attempt: Carolina - Edmonton - Toronto
3rd attempt: Toronto - Columbus - Carolina

It's too real.  I don't want to play anymore.

So Kadri has 13 points in 15 games since the start of December.  His game has been pretty good all year, but since the start of December his point totals are starting to reflect this.

3 questions:

1.  What's his trade value?
2.  If he wants a 5 year deal, what's he worth AAV?
3.  Do you trade him or sign him?

1. Not as high as it would be if he'd been putting up better numbers since the start of the year. I think you could probably get a 1st or a B+/A- prospect for him but that's probably more of an off-season deal.
2. 5.5 or 6 per?
3. Sign him but I'd try to get a 3 or 4 year deal. 4/24 sounds pretty good to me.
