I wager this isn't a coincidence but it's similar to Echoes from a composition standpoint. It's all c# minor blues scale

Awesome. Pixies are still going too aren't they?

In the Heat of the Moment...new single from Noel Gallagher ahead of his new albums "Chasing Yesterday" release - the UK stadium tour for said album sold out in less than 5 hours. In other post-Oasis news Beady Eye have called it a day. Shake along with me...

Yes

Is Endless River any good?

I was actually surprised how much I enjoyed it.  I found it kind of sagged in the middle, but the early parts really brought the feeling of Shine On You Crazy Diamond and then there are flourishes of much of their past throughout.  Being all instrumental until the last song will kind of necessarily limit how good it could really be, but for what it is I found it very enjoyable.  I probably won't sit down and listen to it through a whole lot, but I think it's a pretty nice coda to end the Pink Floyd name with.

And it's definitely an album for Rick Wright to shine.

Bender - if you're looking for the Floyd magic of old (Gilmour & Wright carrying the load) then The Endless River is fantastic. Reminds me a lot of The Division Bell and the unofficial track from those sessions The Big Spliff. My least favorite track on the album is the only one with lyrics / vox and the single (Louder Than Words).

I most definitely did not visit the Jamaican Thread before listening to it for the first time.

I'm dieing to know - what did you think of the Nickleback album?

if you're looking for the 'Back magic of old (Kroeger & Peake carrying the load) then No Fixed Address is fantastic. Reminds me a lot of All the Right Reasons and How You Remind Me. My least favorite track on the album is the main one released as a single (Edge of a Revolution).

Where is this sense of humour when I'm chirping the Leafs? Seriously

In all honesty I like the new Floyd more than I thought I would or should.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

Imagine Dragons to play at the 2014 Grey Cup game halftime show today.

I thought they did a great job and "radio active" sales probably went up again. Great group to see live, love the use of all the percussion and getting the crowd into their music. I would definitely go see them again.

So I went to a couple of concerts last month at the danforth music hall, mostly at my wife's behest, but I didn't mind at all.

So first I saw Peter Hook and his band (formerly of New Order). I've always been a casual new order fan, so I thought this would be fun.

Well the first thing I noticed was that I could barely hear him. Everything else was clear. So I thought that was weird. And then throughout almost every song, he would look offstage and point to his bass or mic and indicate up or down, but then nothing changed. In any case, he played for 3 hours straight. But he really came off as arrogant - didn't say a word to the crowd. Came on, started playing and when he was done, left the stage.I will say this though, he can play the hell out of the bass. He gets a really unique sound out of it.

In any case, 2 weeks later we saw Johnny Marr at the same venue. And everything was crystal clear. Vocals, everything. We saw him last year, and I was just as impressed with him then as I was this time, this guy is a rock star. He can play, sing... really good concert.

So it got me thinking that I felt quite ripped off by the Peter Hook concert - so I started looking up videos that concert goers have uploaded, and it was exactly the same experience I had - so this leads me to the conclusion that he can't sing...

Anyway, have a look for yourselves if you're curious. This may as well have been the concert I was at:
