Yeah I thought he'd get a fine just to establish 'prior history' but good on them for having the stones to put him out a game.

Good thing for Philly they've got Richards and Carter to fill in for Giroux.
 
Not that the Devils need any extra help to beat the Flyers, but I guess it doesn't hurt to take out the leading scorer in the league, in what might be the final game of this series, suspended by long time Devil Shanahan.

On the other hand, maybe this is a kick in the rass the Flyers need. But I doubt it. No sense in fighting a league disciplanarian, who seems to not get it. If he were a smidgen more consistent, I wouldn't have an issue with this suspension, but, it appears he picks and chooses, and that needs to be resolved.

Yup. Also nice to see a star player receive appropriate discipline for an incident that was suspendable but not one that absolutely demanded one.

It does look like charging by Rinaldo on the replay.  But no penalty so I think he gets off scot-free.
 
Wow. I can't remember the last time I saw a defenceman pass it back to their goalie like that. For good reason apparently.
 
The Flyers are pathetically dirty.  I've only watched for about 10 minutes and I've seen them hit a guy from behind, knee a guy, and spear a guy between the legs.

I'm not aware of Zubrus being dirty, so I'll have to take your word for it, but that doesn't excuse the Philli player for what he did (and I don't think that's what you meant - just pointing it out).
