Philadelphia Flyers vs New Jersey Devils

Yep, so it is harder to win a series when the other team isn't getting .850 SV% goaltending.

It's almost like giving up 3 goals a game isn't a sound winning strategy.

And, with that, there are no more teams still playing I would hate to see win the Cup. Or, really, any that I'd prefer to not see win the Cup.

That, and blowing leads in the last 4 games of the series.

Without Torres playing, I don't think there is anyone I dislike on the Coyotes, but having 3 people in paid attendance would kind of irritate me.  I would rather that they get close, build up a bit of a stronger regular season crowd base and THEN maybe win.

LK while it seems fashionable to bash the attendance in Phoenix most of the quotes are just plain wrong.  The Coyotes have more "paid" attendance this season than any of the last 10 I think??  The 10 could be the wrong figure buts it's the best in years.  They give away few tickets these days but still struggle to get the building full on a regular basis.  Most nights that they play a Northern team with many transplants in the desert the building is almost full.  The real problem areas are when they play southern or eastern teams in a weekday game.  And in the playoffs they have given away almost no tickets and the place has been full and rocking!!

I'd still like to see the the Rangers get knocked out.

Glad to see the Flyers are out, and so quickly. Have never been a big fan.

Me too.

Flyers have plenty of firepower but defensively, they're a mess.

Given the teams remaining, I'd like to see a Caps-Coyotes final.

Beauchemin wrote a piece for the LA Times saying he thinks the team that wins the West will win the Cup as he thinks they're both playing better than any team in the East.

With the win last night, the Devils guarantee that their 1st round pick will fall into the 28-30 range, meaning that this likely the year they choose to forfeit that pick as part of the whole Kovalchuk fiasco.

Not that it matters much but the Leafs who pick #35 would pick #34 then I guess? - and would they end the first round @ #29 or would they let Columbus select #30 and rap up the night at that point?

I completely forgot about that; considering their year last year, I didn't think they would have a pick this low in the 4-year span...you're right, if they're smart, they'll forfeit it this year.

My guess is they'd wrap up the 1st round after pick 29.

There would still be 30 picks technically, but wherever the Devils are would just be deemed invalid or forfeited. Like the Devils 3rd round pick last season: http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=46076

Don't get me wrong.  I don't actually mind Phoenix being in existence.  It's just, that sometimes when you go without winning anything, and then win it all, you create a situation like Dallas or Colorado where the fans then expect success all the time, and stop coming when things go south again.  Granted that tends to happen to an extent in most cities, but Phoenix being a 1-and-done team over and over again/missing the playoffs and then suddenly winning the Cup just creates another Carolina scenario.  I would rather they lose to the Kings, and if they are going to win, do it next year or the year after that, so that you build a stronger regular season base and strengthen the league.
